I'd forgotten how bizarre it is, pitch darkness at 5:30pm. I really wanted to take Zoe on a walk, because today was such perfect autumn dog-walking weather. But now the sky is blackblackblack and even though Zoe is part wolf she is the kind of dog who would give a rapist sloppy kisses just before he attacked me. So I think I will stay indoors tonight.
I'm really happy. I think that is the first time I can really say those words honestly, and without cringing.
