Another drabble!
Once again, Comment or face Crossbow-propelled doom.
"I can't see anything, are we screwed?"
"Yeah, we're screwed!"
Dragon ducked behind a concrete planter, just in time to avoid the maser blasts that were fired in his direction by two of Frost's thugs. He cursed, and ejected the spent power pack from his weapon.
"Flare, where are they? All this smoke is throwing my aim off." he said slapping a fresh back into the grip of the pistol.
"Right in front of you, eleven and one o'clock."
"Roger." Dragon then bolted from his shelter, making two blind shots as he dove behind an ajacent planter. He was rewarded by a sharp cry and a thud as the thug hit the ground. Another maser missed his head by only a few inches.
"Damnit, I can't get the last one!"
"Don't worry, I got 'em."
And with that, a gurgle came from the thug, before he slid face first to the ground. Standing right behind him was a slim, athletic woman in her mid-twenties, covered head to toe in a silverly, almost reflective body suit. She knelt down and removed her combat knife from the man's heart, wiping the blood off of the blood with his tunic.
Dragon stood up, and took in the fairly destroyed lobby of the building. He was taller than Flare, dressed in matte black, with a coat that had a few maser holes burned through it.
"Remind me to request one of those sneaking suits on my next equipment withdrawl." He said, looking his partner up with a critical eye.
"I don't think they come in your size, dearheart." Flare said with a smile.
"Did you get the info?"
"Yeah, the vault is in the Nakitomi building in the tech district. Now we just need Cog and Vapor to waltz in and grab the goods."
"And then we get a nice, fat paycheck from the Boss." Dragon said, sliding his weapon into it's holster.
"And then," Flare said as she wrapped her arms around him, "We get to have a nice long vacation, just the two of us."
"Only if Techno-boy and Meta-twerp don't botch the job."
"Please. It's a simple smash and grab job, what's the worst that can happen?"
