So, Magus has been in Montreal since Thursday for an extended Bachelor Party, which means I have the place all to myself! (Near as I can tell, they are all having a great time up there :-D) This all means time spent with my Mom.
Thursday we went out to dinner, and just kind of hung out. And then today, we went to lunch and a movie ("Date Night" with Tina Fey and Steve Carell). It was a highly enjoyable time, and I was grateful that we got to go out, as today would have been my Dad's birthday, and we try to do something every year - when possible - to celebrate.
One of the things that was nice to learn was that my mother has REALLY adjusted to being home by herself (this discussion was brough on by Magus being out of town), and she now finds that she likes living on her own. Granted, my brother and his family live right next door, but still! It was nice to find that she s learning to have 'her' time.
That, of course, was the good of today. The bad of today was that my team (the Flyers, for those of you not paying any attention) lost Game 1 of Round 2 this afternoon (while I was at lunch). In overtime. *sigh* Mostly this was thanks to the return of Bruins center Marc Savard. *double sigh* I'm not going to get all despondent yet though, as I think (from the highlight reals that I've been watching for the past 30 minutes) that the team did well tonight, and we've got a fighting chance for the next one!
My feet also hurt. A lot. This is due to the fact that I need new running shoes something awful. I ran yesterday, and today, and the blisters on my feet are about to take over the entire appendage. I can't afford new shoes though, so I'm just gonna have to grin and bare it for a bit (and maybe wrap my feet tomorrow!)
Now, I think, I may watch me some SPN and some Who. One of them is guaranteed to make me happy at least :-D
