42 (It's an answer, not a question)

Several things in no real order:
  1. I've said it before, and I will say it again: Cat-calling out of a moving vehicle window is not okay! I have no idea who invented this concept, or how the hell it keeps perpetuating itself, because I'm as near to certain as it is possible to be about something that this has NEVER gotten any male anywhere EVER. And, despite what some might think, it is NOT flattering. It does not make me feel better about myself to have random males shout some inane comment out at me while hanging out of a window, while I am at a park out for a run damn it! Its obnoxious and irritating, and self-conscious inducing, and aggravating. And that is NOT okay damn it.
  2. Speaking of running, at some point in the past three years of my engaging (on at least a somewhat regular basis) in the sport, one would think that I would learn to go to the bathroom before leaving the house. One would be wrong.
  3. On a similar note: I am blessed with not having seasonal allergies (I'm just allergic to random things like penicillin, silicon, and wool). This makes running at sunset on a very warm April day a wonderful experience. Except for the part where I am ALSO a moving, veritable feast for mosquitoes and their ilk. Putting bug spray on before leaving the house would result in less ingestion of anti-histamines upon returning.
  4. I took Phoebe's stitches out today. (I took the drain out a week ago). The wound is healing very nicely. The other dog's parents also sent Phoebe a get well soon card (along with the vet bill payment). They have really been very good about all of that. Here's hoping that their dog doesn't injure anyone else.
  5. My blood tests came back positive for Epstein Barr, so I can add that to the running tally of ailments I have that I can't really do a damn thing about. On the plus side, all of my vitamin levels were good. Yay!
  6. I am now the new Conservation Chair for the Junior Women's Club. o_0 My SIL and I figure that if we ingratiate ourselves enough into the workings of this club, we can stage a coup and take the whole thing over and make it hell-a productive. Gotta have goals in life ya know.
  7. This weekend is the 48-Hour Film Project in DC. Again. I feel both better prepared then last year (since now I know it can be done), and less prepared (I have done zero, zip, zilch as far as prep work goes this time). So it shall be an interesting experience to see how it all comes together.
  8. I'm giving up on my dresser. The drawer railings are constantly breaking, the top always reverts back to a hideous catch all for things that have no homes, and only about half my clothes can fit in the thing. (The rest are in under-the-bed storage bins, or on top of the dresser. See above.) As Magus has full use of the one small closet we have in the bedroom, it has been decided that we are going to get/design a nearly-full wall unit wardrobe from Ikea to fix the issue. I am probably more excited about this then I should be, but it will really make our bedroom much more functional and enjoyable.
  9. Sadly (but somewhat unsurprisingly) the Flyers are out of the playoffs. *sigh* So now my rooting is all going to be geared towards the Capitals. Kick some Ranger butt tomorrow, DC!
