*is back*

Well, it's been a whirlwind set of days. First, sometime during the middle of last week I got a nice little variation of the plague. Luckily, it seems like Magus is the only poor unfortunate soul I gave it to (it's that whole living together thing). It's symptoms include a random, incurable headache of migraine like proportions. Upset belly, suppressed appetite, mild sore throat, and at least one day of fever. I got on a plane after the sore throat and fever had cleared out, and flew out to Ohio for 0v0 and 2nd_breakfst's wedding. The location was gorgeous, out on a very lovely lake (a fairly awesome storm broke out overhead during the reception). Lots of fun was had. As was a lot of scotch (at least by the majority of the folks - I remained completely sober on account of having the plague as previously mentioned).

Oh, and if Budget car rental ever gives you the option to "upgrade" their base model rental from a two-door to a four-door? Just. Say. No. Because this? Was the so-called base model that I ended up with (only I had it in black). I can not stress to you enough how much I did not want to give this car back. Seriously.

Sunday, we flew back from Ohio and headed straight down to the Jersey Shore (in my car which is very distinctly not a Shelby-inspired Mustang. *sigh*) My brother and his family, and my Mom, have a place there for the week, with various extended family members coming to crash each day. Magus and I were the crashers for Sunday-Tuesday. Monday was my Mom's 60th birthday, so we took her to AC for the day. We went and saw "The Dark Knight" on IMAX (still flawless), gambled a bit (we all managed to come up at least a tiny bit, which is nice), and had dinner at Cuba Libre before heading back to the shore-house for cake, presents, and poker. Yesterday was a beach day, with ocean swimming and sand-lounging before Magus and I packed up and came back home.

All in all, we had a great time the last few days. In fact, the only thing not good about going away was how bad Phoebe reacted to our absence. Normally she stays with my Mom when we go away (whom she loves, and whose house she'd rather live at thenour own). This time, she spent the first couple of days at our place with Magus' brother (and his family) taking care of her and Boo. She rebelled my not eating very much. Then Magus' sister took her for the remaining time. At which point she barely ate, barely went to the bathroom, and basically hid underneath the bed for 2.5 days. Needless to say, since retrieving her yesterday, she is back in good spirits, and behaving normally. This dog is just all neuroses, I swear. But we love her like pancakes, so what can you do. *shrugs*

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to try and find something to do so I don't feel so bad for them paying me to sit here.

ETA: The skip feature on my flist informs me that you are all quite a talky bunch :-D If there is something that has happened in the last week you feel I should be made aware of (or that I just shouldn't miss!) please feel free to link me here. Otherwise, I'll might miss it. I just don't think I'm going to get through all of those entries any time soon!
