Shin Splints

Apr 17, 2008 12:26

Magus and I went for a run together yesterday. Before we had even hit the quarter mile mark, he was outpacing me, and I had an uncomfortable tingle in my right calf. By the 1 mile mark, he was a good 1:30 ahead of me, and my leg was throbbing. 15 minutes into the run, he doubled back to meet up with me, and I was no longer able to run. Instead I was walking with a limp, and my shin felt like it was on fire. It took us about 10 minutes to get back to the house, at which point I thought maybe I could toss in a quick sprint. This was not a great idea.

It's still a bit tingly today. Seems like now is a good time to finally get my swim training under gear, and maybe up the amount I am biking.

*sigh*

On a happy note, I have signed up for a morning (6-7 am) yoga class once a week starting next Thursday. This will last right up until the week before my tri, and should help me to maintain my flexibility. Not to mention get my butt out of bed, even if I don't want to, as I'm paying for it in advance. This is a good thing :-)
