Day 3 of our trip
-Snoooooow
-The Grand Canyon
I woke up at 7:20-ish to the sight of SNOW outside!!
It was super exciting.
Straightened my hair which is really unattractive in the morning and then made a peanut butter sandwich.
We went outside and Melody decorated the car.
Loaded up and left the hotel. (note the snow on Melody's chin)
There were all these ADORABLE baby trees that I kept failing to get pictures of,
but the landscape itself was just beautiful.
I think the sign says Grand Canyon 50 miles. Schweet.
We stopped at a gas station to check the tires and I laughed because the last thing these people need is more ice.
It was also pretty funny when my dad couldn't get the engine to start.
We drove for a while through what looked like Amish land.
A line of mailboxes... (small town anybody?)
Boredom struck.

WE MADE IT TO THE PARK!!
The Grand Canyon is absolutely terrifying, so don't listen if anyone tells you that it's not.
But it's also completely and utterly gorgeous and magnificent.
GoGoGo if you get the chance.
We had snowball fights!! (midair action w00t)
The visitors center had the randomest tree topper EVER.
It was cool to see the snow outside the window though. (hey, in socal we never get snow so it's kind of a big deal to me [:)
Someone had made a miniature snowman so of course we took pictures with it.
Everyone loaded back into the car to drive to another spot on the rim, but again my parents couldn't get the engine to start.
Dad: *tries for 10 minutes*
Mom: *tries for 10 minutes*
Skye: *gets it on the first attempt*
We passed the train station.

I think Melody was falling during this series.
We (meaning mostly my dad) built a snowman.
We took a lot of pictures with Fred Wildred because of our separation anxieties.
At any rate, it was eventually time to go.
My parents are out of practice at driving in the snow, so they decided to follow the snowplow, only then they got mad because the car in front of us was following the plow TOO closely, and a whole conversation ensued.
Passed a really odd Flintstone's town thing or something. (dunno exactly what it was)
Melody was hungry so we stopped at a coffee shop, only to find they had no food.
McDonald's instead. (for the second day in a row--*blergh*)
Oh yeah, haha, my drink kept freezing too much so I used the heater to warm it.
We eventually got back to the hotel and Melody and I played congi (sp?) for a bit.
(yeah I know, my pants are just oh so attractive)
Passed the time.

5 I ate (figures)
Then it was DINNERTIME!!!!
We went to this fast food Italian place that was actually really good and really cheap.
I had Caesar salad and penne with meat sauce. And Sprite of course.
Then I updated Livejournal (duh) and ate some thumbprint cookies.
This was my sneak attack on Melody. Only she accidentally hurt dad hahahaha.
