'Tis my one and only sweet sixteen
Hooray for birthday celebrations! And this most certainly was a birthday to never ever forget. On what other day do they stick you in a car and tell you to drive, as you stare at them like they're from Mars? And that's after you've squealed about the DMV trip for months, and finally have your permit in hand. When, ever in my life am I going to be enthusiastic about a first job? Those are once in a lifetime things there.
Besides that, I've had two parties in two days. I got to see some of my lovely wonderful friends yesterday, and today, the family. (Please note the lack of "lovely wonderful.") And in less than one week I get a new cell phone! This year I actually got jewelry I liked from my aunt too. Apparently the rest of the family thinks the sixteen is a big one, so they send lots of money. Which also probably means this is the last time I get money, let alone more than I need. However I don't mind, because this means I get to buy myself a digital camera! Which means pictures!
It really has been a good two days and I'm looking forward to the rest of the week. Except the part where they're making me go driving again. Once was enough for me. Yeah, yeah, I know it will get better eventually but I couldn't believe my Dad actually did that. Of all people. All of this birthday stuff has left a girl who has already been super emotional lately, exhausted. But it's my birthday and I'm celebrating! Hooray!
