To start: I was finally able to sigh in relief when I saw Sawako alive. Really. That was an amazing trick, but heck it was scary! I thought she was dead, and it was just a bathtub full of red roses! Good job!
Mamihara pisses me off. Ugh. I hate guys who play hero outside of their house when they basically ruined their families. I feel like punching him in this episode! Sawako should let go of him, that man is only going to hurt her even more. I feel bad for her. As for Ayame, I think I'm more sympathetic for her. That Yui is a complete freak! She should have the chance to go on with her life without being afraid of that psycho showing up again. (hahaha I'm usually harsh with male characters, aren't I? :P).
Well, there's one female character I just can't stand, and that is Kiyooka-sensei. Faking a pregnancy to make a guy marry you? What is this, 19th century? *rolls eyes* She should understand that even if you like someone it doesn't mean that person has to like you back! She seems desperate. I also hate how she doesn't want to deal with her student's problems. It's like she doesn't care about anything that doesn't have to do with herself.
I love Yuko and Sudo-sensei's friendship ^^ She's so cute when she gets worried about him, awww~
Keitoku is funny as always. I have to differ with him regarding Sudo-sensei marrying Kiyooka-sensei. I think there are many other ways he can show he's grateful for what she did.
Ai is scary. So is Sanemori, but Ai wins. The last scene almost gives me a heart attack the first time I saw it (I've seen this chapter like four times already xD). Maybe because it was midnight, LOL. Children doing that to their parents is... hmmm... hard. I wonder what kind of extreme you have to reach to actually think about hurting your own parents :S
Komada is being ridiculous. And I don't see why Yuko should have to apologize. Actually, I don't see why Sudo-sensei had to apologize when the police questioned him either. This is something that bothers me. Do Japanese people really try so hard not to "trouble" someone, even if they know that person is wrong? This has been the most annoying part about this chapter (and Japanese shows in general xD).
The police seems useless in this show, LOL. Although... it's an image the police has in many countries, including mine haha.
I think I've said eveything? I don't know, but thsi comment is already too long to continue hahahahaha! Thanks for subbing this chapter and for the review ^^
You're welcome and thanks for joining the discussion!
I totally agree with you about Sawako, I was so relieved that she's alive as well! >.< Plus that trick with the red bathtub was SO awesome, that's one of the reasons why I love this dorama so much!
I can see why you don't like Mamihara. I agree with you at some parts but in general I can sympathize with him as well like I can sympathize with all characters (well, expect Yui =_=). I agree though that Sawako just should break up with him. I can see why she doesn't want to but like this, I'm sorry to say that but I think in this case it's the woman's own fault if she can't break up with her cheating husband... I'm curious if she will be brave enough to do so in the future. Unfortunately I don't see Mamihara coming back to her since he seems to be sincere about Ayame, so before it's too late and ruining Sawako completely, I think she should go to her daughter's family, who offered their help to her anyways. She might be much more happy there.
I really feel sorry for Ayame! She must be so desperate and living in fear, imagining that I would have to live such a life is unbearable >.< I can see why she's relating onto someone and I can see why Mamihara wants to protect her. Gosh I really hope they get that Yui-guy for something so that they can put him into prison again >.> Hell...
Yeah... Kiyooka is my least favorite female character I guess... no wait, that should be Yuko's mother. Nevertheless I can understand why Kiyooka is doing what she's doing. Maybe I'm too nice to the characters here but I feel like all of them have proper "motives" for their actions that's why I can't bring myself to fully hate someone here. Of course the fake pregnancy was just mean and stupid and I don't like her acting towards her students either! She really should care more about them but I think, she's just afraid and does not get involved. It's not the right way to deal with the problem and maybe she should stop being a teacher in general if she can't cope with such problems but there are people who just can't deal with such situations.
Sudou and Yuko together are really cute, aren't they? XD I was surprised about the good chemistry between those two since they are sooo different and also the cinematography and script always shows how different the concepts of those characters are. So it's interesting, to see them together. (Btw, I'm shipping them as well =P)
Keitoku is funny, yes but I also think he's a bit too naive and a big talker. He might really think what he's saying but I bet he does not really have a clue actually. Or he's showing us a facade... I'm still waiting for his funny/nice face to crumble and to see what's underneath. It's hard for me to believe that he's a character whose only issue is that his wife has an expensive hobby so that he can't buy that many gravure DVDs any longer... I don't agree with his comment about Sudou having to marry Kiyooka either. That's such bullshit, really...
Sanemori and Ai are both so scary >.< But yes, I think as well that Ai wins, maybe because her character got better introduced to us than Sanemori's. The last scene was so creepy, OMG XD I'm watching Kazokugari only at night time btw, because it fits the mood so I was freaking out about that as well ^^"
Yes, Komada is so stupid, really -.- I also think he's a bit dumb (sorry for the word), he even had to READ his rights to Yuko just like the lawyer wrote them down for him (or he wrote them down when he was at the lawyer's), I think that shows that he's not the brightest guy. I'm afraid of giving Reiko-chan back to him D=
OMG my comment was even too long for one comment >.> Well, here the rest XD
About that they want Yuko to apologize and that Sudou has to apologize to the police... I have to say, I never was in Japan so of course it might be different but I think from watching doramas and from what I have experienced with Japanese people (like people from work or our senseis at the language course), I think that it's really important for Japanese people to not cause trouble by no means! Read, if there is something troubling you, don't admit it, at least not if you're the person lower in hierarchy among the people concerned. If your boss says, the sky is green, you agree, so to say. Well, that might be a bit over the edge but I think it gives us an idea how Japanese people treat problems. I think this is a mixture of being polite, not wanting to cause troube, wanting everything to be peaceful and all of this thrown into the Japanese system of hierarchy. It's a bit hard to explain though but I hope you know what I mean. I think that this is a typical Japanese thing somehow and I personally think that it's often useful to prevent fights but often it is also really dishonest and it makes it even harder to understand how Japanese people are thinking and what their true opinions are. Nevertheless I think dorama characters are still quite more honest and straight forward, than real Japanese people might be...
OK, this comment now got pretty long as well xD I hope I didn't forget anything. Aw I hope I can watch episode 5 tonight, finally, if I have enough time. I need to start translating after all XD But I wanted to go to bed early because I'm a little sick but I still have to answer some comments. Well, let's see...
That trick was brilliant! Also the part with Ai's face, it felt really scary!
I agree, Sawako should really leave that man and go with her daughter's family. It's really frustrating to see women (or anyone, regardless of gender) being so attached to a destructive relationship :/
Ayame :'(
Hahahaha Yuko's mother is just as annoying, but in this chapter she was completely absent! :O Yeah. there are people who weren't born to deal with that kind of situations and should not get involved in that kind of jobs. In real life is very common to find them though, and that makes me sad...
They're adorable! x3 The fact that they're so different only makes it even cuter hahaha!
Keitoku has a big mouth xD He's just a kid in the process of becoming an adult, forced by his having to marry after getting his girlfriend pregnant. He's an interesting character anyway.
I watch it at night for the same reason. Then when I'm done I'm so scared that I can't sleep for a while, LOL.
Giving Reiko-chan back to him would be a BIG mistake! That makes me think... how many parents like him are out there making their children suffer and no one does a thing? Reiko-chan is lucky that Yuko is around, but imagine if she weren't! That girl might be dead! Domestic violence is a horrible part of reality :(
Ugh, that's a frutrating attitude! xD I'm not saying we're any better here, LOL, but it doesn't give a good image. I'd rather deal with someone rude than with someone who is hypocrite, to be honest, and they do sound a bit like hypocrites. I think I'd get in trouble often if I was in Japan hahahahaha! Dorama characters do sound way more honest than real Japanese people xD It's a bit... hmmm... I don't even know how to call it. Again, I'm not saying we're better in my country, but I'd find it hard to act in that way :/
Truth is, I can also understand Sawako somehow... she wants to stay with the man she loves (or loved) and wants to try over again... It's not the same but in my last relationship I stayed with my ex-boyfriend for almost a year although the relationship was broken, out of different reasons. Often it's not easy to end something that lasted for years. Nevertheless, I hope Sawako will be strong enough to grow over the ruined relationship with her husband. I don't see any hope for them.
Ok, now you're making me even more curious about Keitoku XD So he was forced to marry his girlfriend because she was pregnant? Was this a spoiler? XD Aw, I have to continue watching...
Watching creepy stuff at night is great, isn't it? I get afraid pretty easily and so I most of the time don't want to watch horror movies and such alone but sometimes I need this thrill. Like lately, I watched Honto ni atta kowai Hanashi 2014, a TV Special made of different horror short stories based on true happenings and I was getting SO AFRAID at some parts, it was freaking me out! But I enjoyed it so much!
It's true... there are a lot of cases similar to Reiko-chan's in real life, right? That's really sad =(
Yes, that attitude is frustrating. I don't know, I think in my country such an attitude exists as well sometimes but not that often and not that strong. Of course the hierarchy among boss - subordinates and such is important as well and if you're too straight forward in some aspects it can cost you your job but in general I think if you say it politely you can say everything to almost everyone in my country. I guess we're much mor "honest" in this regard. Nevertheless, I have discovered that I might have a similar art to think and especially to behave if it comes to Japanese people and situations. Maybe I'm just too used already to Japanese doramas and such xD I don't say that I wouldn't bring myself into trouble if I were in Japan but I guess I could fit in quite good in society there (not sure though if this is something positive or negative o_O)
You're right... :/ I'm no expert in relationships, but I guess that's how you'd feel in that case...
Hahahhaa no, it's more of what I concluded after watching him interact with his wife :P They do get along (fortunately), but it does not seem that they were planning to get married or have kids. They were two kids fooling around and, well, as Keitoku keeps repeating "they made a baby" and things changed. They were forced by circumstances to start thinking more like adults... or something like that hahahaha He is an interesting character. His wife too xD
Ah it's the best xD I love suspense! It does freak me out sometimes, but that's the point, LOL...
Probably you're used to it now xD I still find it annoying hahaha. Well, I'm Latin American, and we're not very known for being "polite" towards superiors hahahaha maybe that's why Japanese being over-polite bug me a little :P
I've had two relationships and both were... complicated... I don't claim that I'm much experienced, but I think I can relate to Sawako's feelings somehow.
Ah sou ka XD Alright, I'm curious what will come up with Keitoku. I just hope he really likes his wife. I mean being there for her and their child sounds nice and it's of course important but I think to live like a family, there is also love needed so I hope love is involved here or it might break apart sooner or later =/
Yes, me too xD I'm a real suspense lover! People always ask me why I'm watching suspense stuff, if I'm getting scared and stuff but well, yeah BECAUSE it scares me and that is actually funny? xD Then they call me strange but what's the point in watching scary stuff if you don't get scared? o_O
Ah I see, yeah well that might be the reason why you think Japanese are being over-polite. I think as well that they are too polite sometimes... or should I say that they are not honest enough. I'd appreciate if they would be more straight forward because even if I think I'm not bad in looking behind people's behavior to find out their true intentions, they make it really difficult =(
To start: I was finally able to sigh in relief when I saw Sawako alive. Really. That was an amazing trick, but heck it was scary! I thought she was dead, and it was just a bathtub full of red roses! Good job!
