The third Alice was a young child
With a fine form, to the Wonderland
Seducing various people
Created a strange country
As for such Alice, the queen of the country
Possessed by a distorted dream
While being frightened by a decaying body
Reigned in the apex of the country
Lenalee Lee stepped out of her house and breathed in the cool morning air. At 6 years old, she was remarkable pretty for someone her age. Her long forest green hair was tied up in two pigtails, one on each side of her head. Her wide violet eyes roamed her surroundings with a childlike interest.

Her brother poked his head out of the house. “Be careful ok Lenalee?” he said. Lenalee nodded and skipped across the road to the house opposite.

A group of children met her at the door.

“Lenalee is here!!”

“Lenalee!!”

“Where shall we go today Lenalee?”

“Do you have any game in mind?”

Her group of friends, consisting of both boys and girls, surrounded Lenalee in an instant. “How about we go to the park near the West Gate?” she suggested. The children cheered. A tall shadow suddenly fell over them.

Komui Lee stood intimidating over the group of small children, his glasses glinting evilly in the morning. The fact that he was holding a long wooden pole did not help ease the scare. “If any of you hurt Lenalee,” he said, “You’ll be sorry.” The wooden pole moved a little, as if wanting to strike the kids.

It worked far too well. “Yes Komui-san,” they squeaked. They scurried past him as fast as possible and left for the park.
The dream saw Lenalee Lee and decided that it would be a nice change. If the child can be corrupted since young, she would grow up in the Wonderland. Which is a lot more appealing than corrupting the previous boys. The dream admitted it was fun to watch Kanda Yuu paint the trail red and it was interesting to see Lavi possessing all the listeners with his music. But their time with each other was short lived. And here was a potential young girl who he can spend time with for a long period, and it would keep it alive. No doubt that behind the red door, Kanda Yuu’s time was limited. Days had passed since he was trapped in the forest of vines with no food and water. Lavi was already dead but the confines of the blue door kept the body from rotting.

It decided to observe the young girl for a while.
Lenalee sat on the ground carefully, not messing up the clothes her brother had taken the liberty to wash and iron for her. Miranda sat down beside her and they chatted about random things while the boys played under the shade of the large tree.

“LENALEE!!!” called one of them. His long grayish white hair was tied up and it was flung over his shoulder when he turned around to call Lenalee. “We’re gonna start a game soon and it won’t be fun if you are not around.”

Another boy lightly knocked against his head. “Robin, you don’t call out to her like that,” he chastised gently. “You are new around here, so you may not know.”

“Yeah, in this town, we sometimes refer to her as Lenalee hime-sama. Because she’s so pretty we thought she might be a princess until we saw Komui-san of course,” another boy explained. His short black hair was cropped messily on his head while long purple triangles decorated his face.

“Daisya!! Don’t go around picking on the new kids,” said the second boy. He seemed older than any of them and his black hair was combed back nicely.

Lenalee giggled. “Suman, don’t be so harsh on them,” she pointed out. Turning to the boy addressed as Robin, she asked, “Where’s your brother?”

“Allen? He’s sick today,” Robin replied.
The dream decided Lenalee would be a very nice addition to his world. He could feel Kanda’s consciousness slipping away bit by bit. And it was the blue rose that kept part of Lavi’s life force so that the dream could stay alive.

The third cursed item was summoned and the dream went over to Lenalee Lee, invisible to all.
The sun was halfway down into the night when Suman noticed the time.

“Gosh, it’s so late already,” he remarked. The group of children stopped playing immediately. They too watched the sun slowly sink into the horizon. Lenalee looked up too. Standing she smoothened out her clothes and realized something was missing.

“Oh no!!!” she cried out. The rest of the children stared at her. “My necklace is missing!!”

She turned her head left and right frantically in an attempt to spot the shiny ornament. But dark was falling quickly and the sun rays left the sky too soon for Lenalee’s liking. The other children attempted to help her with her search but she denied their offers.

“If you don’t go home soon your parents will be worried,” she pointed out. Insisting that she stay behind to look for it, Daisya agreed to drop by and tell Komui where she was. Lenalee resumed hunting for her precious accessory after her friends were long gone.

The dream had it of course. It had taken the necklace right under Lenalee’s nose as bait. It went over to the anxious young girl.

“Looking for this?” it said as it draped the necklace over a nearby stone. Lenalee’s head snapped up at the sound. But there was nobody around. She saw her necklace on the stone and ran over to pick it up, grateful for having found it.

“Thank you, whoever it is,” she gasped out, relief flowing through her in a painful way. The necklace was her mother’s. After her parents died, it was the only thing Lenalee had to remind her of her mother.

“No problem,” the dream said. “But either way, you owe me a favour for finding your necklace for you.”

Lenalee looked around. She still could not see anyone. “But who are you? How can I return you the favour?” she asked.

The dream merely replied, “I’m invisible to all. But you can help keep me alive. I’ll show you another place where people will not just treat you as a princess like your friends.”

Lenalee tensed. She rather liked the attention given to her by her friends. But to be see, not just a princess, but something more, appealed to the young girl. The dream saw its opportunity. A large red apple materialized. On one side, a green symbol of cloves was painted on it. It was turned in a way that Lenalee will be unable to see the symbol.

“That apple over there. It will show you the way to that country,” the dream said. Lenalee ran over to the apple. It seemed rather delicious. All she had was a small breakfast, a mini picnic at noon and nothing else to eat. She took a large bite of the apple. The power stored within the apple was transferred over to its new host. A half-mask with the mark of the green clove formed on the left side of her face. Her remaining eye changed from innocent violet to dull green and she smiled in the way Kanda Yuu smiled when he received the sword and Lavi after he analyzed the music sheet. The apple opened another path to Wonderland and she skipped down the path into the strange country.

The people of Wonderland saw her skipping down the roads and claimed that she was the prettiest girl around to take the throne. She used her charm to get the people to build her a castle. She danced around the towns with such grace that people drawn to her become citizens of her kingdom. ‘Queen Lenalee’ was the general talk in the kingdom.

Years passed and the child queen soon grew up. She was now sixteen and still in charge of the kingdom. The dream felt nearly proud. Wonderland was flourishing and was just as strong as it was when it was first dreamed of. Lenalee was also doing a pretty decent job of governing the country. But the dream was bored. Every day is was the same routine. Lenalee would wake up, and the maids will help her dress. After a few minutes of looking in the mirror, Lenalee would leave for the main hall where the ministers will gather for a court session. After dismissing them, the long line of suitors will take their turn in impressing the queen for her hand in marriage. And the queen will always reject them.

“You like someone else do you, Lenalee?” the dream asked after the last of the suitors left and the doors to the queen’s room closed. “I can see it from your memories. Who is he?”

Lenalee’s face flushed red as she realized one of her secrets was out. “He’s just a friend in my hometown. Nothing else,” she insisted.

The dream smirked. “Sure he is. You want to go back and see him again do you?” it said. “But do you think you can catch his attention like before?”

The last line caught the queen’s attention. “What do you mean?” she replied angrily. “I am the most beautiful girl in this place. I have never changed for the past ten years!”

The dream decided to humour her. “Sure, that’s what you say. I’m bored, so I’ll go look for another host. You might want to take down the few mirrors in the castle,” it told her and left.

Lenalee never listened of course. She was her own princess, a princess who will take orders from no one. Before it left, the dream tinkered with all the mirrors. There was nothing wrong with Lenalee. It wanted her to believe that there was. She ran down the hallway to the nearest mirror she knew.

It took one look at her reflection before she ran back to her room and barricaded the door, keeping herself in and everyone out. In the mirror, she saw the green half mask with the upside down Mark of Cloves. The other half staring at her was blood red and decaying.
The word of the castle was that the queen never came out again. Meals and court sessions were held within the queen’s room. However, the queen will lock herself within the bedroom area, giving orders to the ministers standing in the hall of her quarters.

The dream amused itself looking at the events happening in Wonderland. It saw a couple of boys leaving the village. “One of them can be my next Alice,” it told itself.
