DALEY, DANIEL P., 53, of Pine St., died Sunday at the Summit Commons in Providence. He was the son of Helen Tish (Orr) Daley of North Providence and the late Austin C. Daley.
Dan was a passionate advocate for social justice, serving on the board of Direct Action for Rights and Equality, volunteering with R.I. Jobs With Justice, Industrial Workers of America (IWA), PrYSM and People's Assembly. He was also a long time volunteer at Amos House.
He received a BA from Rhode Island College and was personally presented a Masters Degree in Counseling from the President of Rhode Island College on April 6, 2009.
He was a communicant of St Mary Church on Broadway in Providence. He was a member of the Secular Order of St. Francis and of Pax Christi.
He was an old friend of Bill W.
Besides his mother he leaves a brother James and his wife Katherine and their children Marikate Neill, Kyle, Ryan and Anna all of Cranston. The Funeral will be held Saturday at 9:45 from the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary Church, Broadway Prov.
