Aaahaha.

An amazing thing happened to me the other morning while reading the local newspaper. With much concern I read of the quagmire in Iraq, spiraling trade and budget deficits, millions of Americans without health insurance and a public education system which ranks in the lowest tier among industrialized nations. It was then that I heard a voice.

The voice told me that we could solve these problems by passing some very simple constitutional amendments. These amendments would include bans on same-sex marriages, flag burning, the teaching of evolution and a mandate making English the official language.

As the voice faded, I had time to reflect and think. I then realized that these amendments would not educate our children, provide them health care, free them from the enormous debt we are accruing or protect them from terrorists.

Abruptly, the voice spoke again and much louder this time. All reason and independent thought vanished. The voice told me that I was better than everyone else and that regardless of results (or trivialities like facts and truth) I would still have the satisfaction of standing in the public square, proudly pounding my chest as an English-speaking, patriotic, God-fearing heterosexual.

One can only wonder which entity spoke to me that morning . . .

Oh, man. That is awesome. XD

So the Red Sox are basically getting RAPED by the Yankees right now and it's glorious. Absolutely fucking glorious. Not to mention the fact that half of the Yankees' team is injured, including Sheffield, Jeter, and Matsui. And the Sox are still getting their asses handed to them. WIIIIIIN. And Nadal won his 57th straight clay win, which is all very exciting. Woohoo for tennis!

I had pretty much the best day ever in school. Math kind of sucked, because we're just reviewing for our exam, and I realize that while I thought I remembered things, apparently I don't. Fuckses. But second period was glorious; Mrs. Kulp, Sam, and I went to Borders (the rest of our class was gone) and I had a sweet piece of chocolate cake. And then we walked around for a while and looked at books before we had to (sadly) go back to school. But it was all very relaxing and so much fun; I fucking love Borders.

And things only got better after that. During third period, Oliver, Andrew, Esther, Sam, Mr. Roberts, and I all went to Olive Garden for lunch. I got some amazing lasagna, in addition to breadsticks, salad, and a really excellent dessert of strawberries, blueberries, and some kind of Italian cream. It was delicious, and it was a lot of fun to talk with everyone in such a lovely atmosphere.

I got back just in time for AP US, where we watched the end of Cinderella Man. I have to admit, it was pretty intense by the end. If I hadn't been watching it in school, in a class I absolutely detest, I probably would have cried. Very moving. And the boxing was so FUCKING INTENSE. Holy crap. Great cinematography. I can see why it was so accalimed, although I still think it was a little bit too schmoozy for my taste.

Since I've been home, I've taken a nap, gone running (kind of), made an incredible strawberry milkshake, and watched the Yankees kick the shit out of the Red Sox. What I should have been doing is writing my English essay, studying Hamlet monologues, and reviewing math work. And to all that, I say...fuck it all. XD

Pwah. I hope summer brings summer romance.

Peace, love, and shaggy hair--

P.S. Gudeeeeeee. I need to talk to you. And Meara, quit being a coward and just take care of business! Those are all the secretive messages I have for everyone. XD Oh, wait, one more.

JULIA, ARE YOU WEEPING YET? (I love you, by the way)

school, yankees, movies, restaurant, politics, tennis
