Yaaaay.

Eehee. Prom tomorrow! I have to admit, I'm pretty excited. I always get all unreasonably giddy before dances, and I can't say I've really had any real reason to. My expectations are invariably low, but I'm still filled with feelings of squeeful elation. I think the amount of pleasure I take in dressing up far outweighs any negative feelings I might have from not finding anyone to dance with. Flowy skirt! Shiny baubles! High heels! Seriously, what the hell else do you need to make me happy? Chocolate, that's what. Chocolate and lots of man.

But seriously. I'm excited. The theme of the evening is simplicity! I'm wearing a simple brown dress (but it's really flattering on my figure) and drop pearl earrings with a single-strand pearl necklace. Classy, understated, simple. I love it. The shoes balance it out, as they are fabulous beyond words; certainly, I could not go to any dance without fabulous shoes. Blasphemous!

I'm not sure what I'm doing afterwards. I think I may actually call Ben tonight and see if he'd be opposed to me crashing at his house... it'd give me a chance to see him and catch up, as well as a place to go after prom. Two birds with one stone! I think, however, that I shall try to find somewhere to go in Urbana first. I really shouldn't spend my high school days as an IB hermit, regardless of how much I enjoy it. We'll see what happens, I guess. I am rather excited at the amount of liberty I'll have for this dance; no date to hold me back (god knows I love the boys, but they can be a drag at times) my own car, no parents home to have to check up with--hey, this is a pretty sweet deal. I'm sure I won't capitalize on it because I'll be too damned pooped, but it's the thought that counts!

I've been reading a Nora Roberts novel since yesterday (I'm almost done) and it's reeeeally good. It's the first of her Chesapeake series, which I've heard from several people is one of her better ones. I love it; I'd forgotten how thoroughly I enjoy mindless romance novels. Mmm, sex. XD

Man. These next few weeks are going to be tough... I'm sure if I tried hard enough, I could be physically conscious of my willingness to work slowly draining out of me. Must push through! Must push through! Stay focused, Cat! The end is near! The finish line is coming up! The light at the end of the tunnel! The--
