It's been a good weekend.
On Friday night I went to Gude's house with Meara, Chantel, and Sophie; I hadn't realized it was meant to be a sleepover, so I ended up leaving early because it'd been a long week and I desperately wanted to sleep in my own bed. Yes, I fail at being a teenager--don't remind me. It was still good to see everyone, though. I always forget how incredibly loud and delightfully obnoxious all my drama friends are. XD I'm a lot more outspoken when there are people around me who aren't as loud, but I'm really much more of a wallflower at heart. We watched Capote and it was very, very good. After all the epic movies--and all the intense, blatantly heartwrenching emotion that goes with it--it was refreshing to wtach a movie that was subtle and simple, but so incredible well-crafted. Truman Capote was a dick, though. I totally hated him. But yeah, good movie; I left around 11:30 or so and managed to sleep a whole lot. Hooray!
I meant to do some homework on Saturday, but I was feeling antsy and ended up going out by myself. Mmmm, sweet freedom. I love it. I spent the last $40 of my gift card at GAP (on a bunch of nondescript tank tops--they were $10 apiece! I couldn't resist) and then stopped by Borders to read Cosmopolitan and drink a smoothie. It was lovely. Alex and Erich came over later in the evening, which was...pretty amusing. XD To say the least. We played Egyptian Rat Screw (I got KILLED) and watched Goldeneye and Love Actually. Around 2:00 AM, we went for a walk and goofed off on my street, because apparently that is the thing to do at my house. :P I can't wait until summer! The opportunities for doing silly things are infinitely expanded when it's warm out--not to mention the fact that I'm completely sick of being so bloody cold all the time. We need to have another cathartic girls' party at my house, complete with emo playground conversations.
After going to bed at 3:00, I had to get up around 8:00 or so to go to the school and do artsy stuff. Emily ended up coming with me and it was so fantastic to see her again. <333 I miss my field hockey friends like whoa--I'd even deal with the running to be able to see them again on a consistent basis. Anyway, that all went well; I can't wait to take art next year. Hopefully Ms. Winkles will force me to branch out into some different mediums, because I'm always afraid to do so on my own.
I got home a little before 11:00 and went straight back to bed until 2:00, so I am relatively well-rested. I still need to read my US chapter (AAAAAAAAUGH) do my math homework, and maybe do a little work on my French homework. Thank god it's a short week this week; I'm working on adrenaline at this point, and it has to last me until Spring Break. Fuckses.
So it goes, so it goes. Belly dancing starts up again next Sunday--I can't wait. Eeeeeee. Shimmies are really fucking hard to get down, though. I don't mean the upper boddy shimmies--those are totally doable--but the ones where you just have to shimmy your hips really fast, without using your knees at all. Buh? I didn't know that was possible, but apparently it is! I shall keep working at it. In other, unrelated news, I really need to get a job; I tried to apply at GAP but the manager told me I had to be 18. Fuuuuuuuck. I will probably end up working at Giant Eagle, or something of the sort; honestly, I don't really care, as long as it's money and work experience.
Mmm. I'm going to go read some more.
Peace, love, and shaggy hair--
