OK, I had a meeting Friday on China. Unfortunately, Natalia was ill, so I got her phone number and opted for a telephone conference.
My questions were: How much are costs? (Of course, the most important.) How much pay? What kind of work? When? How long? etc.
Answer to the most important question was: "It's a school sponsored trip. I don't think you have to worry about that. We are paying for the plane and the accommodation."
This was shocking, so I changed to Russian to clarify, "Сказала всё бесплатно?" [It's amazing how Russian just sometimes comes to me, being so lazy and non-conformist to it.]
"Yes, FREE," she said [emphasis added].
Great! I will be paid to do a job that I enjoy, paid for the trip, paid for the stay, and then paid to return home [my Russian home]. Great!!! The girlfriend may not like the prospect much, but I'm in, of course!
So, it will be teaching, maybe if necessary some teacher training (not mine, but me doing), a few words and such. Me learning some Chinese in the waiting period. [Soonest departure will be in January.] And me trying to remember the Chinese phases that I learned when I was learning Russian and also helping my Chinese classmates to understand the Russian (sometimes translating English into more clear English).
Lots of "Da Shoo" and "Foo Shoo" (singular and plural) is what I still remember. That and a few physics words and the word for love...and Sky, of course. Wow, there are lots of ways to say Sky, not sure which is best, because some seem to have multiple meanings. It's interesting, so I'm sure to learn a lot.
OK, I need to get up to help move the Теща tomorrow. I was invited to an African party and a weekend music festival at a beach house...but no, I'm helping move. And the music festival is the Russian version of what my parents and sister and her family would give real body parts to attend. I like music too, but I also like the conversational aspect of such things. Очен жал.
OK, I'm to bed.
