Self-Employed Inventor Career

A test sim. I don't remember his name, but he's cute. ^.^ He's a self-employed inventor.

Drying clothes...

Twinbrooks is a beautiful and almost ethereal town. It's has an industrial feel to it and the whole town is constructed on swamplands.

My favorite picture!

You need many "scraps" to create things on the inventing bench. You can make small toys, widgets, big inventions, and cheap toys. (I'm 99% sure those are all the categories.)

My test sim's house. He lives in a very swampy part of town.

Inventing can sometimes set your sim on fire. He didn't have a shower so he had to take a taxi (while still on fire!) to the gym and use their shower. He made it with four minutes to go.

"Must...be...skinny...!"

Jumping on a trampoline.

Many of the people in this town have a similar face to this woman. Very sharp angles.

This is one of the junkyards in the town. There are two. You can collect scraps from the piles of rubbish or you can salvage ruined furniture. You can also implode furniture for one unit of scrap. (Sorry about the dark pictures.)

He bought a gnome in a music box at the consignment store, where people can buy and sell paintings, cameras, scultpures, inventions, nectar...It's a great little shop, I love it.

D8< He's wearing sunglasses over his mask.

I like this park more than the Sunset Valley or Riverview parks.

Detonating a piece of salvageable furniture from the junkyard. In 3, 2, 1...

...KABOOM!

It is sad that for any item you detonate, you get one unit of scrap. Whether it's a huge item worth $2000 or a small plant worth $100, you get one unit.

When you're building, you have the option to invent and discover new inventions or build something you've already discovered. After you've played around inventing for a while, you get a lightbulb...

...and your discovered invention appears on the table! Depending on the item built, it will be found in the inventor's inventory or your family invention. And from then on, you can build as many of that invention as you want, as long as you have scrap.

"I'm so excite--wait, what is that green thing!?"

The gnome Test McSim built liked the floor hygieninator (I'm not sure how it was spelled). Everytime a sim walks over it, it releases a scent; I was able to choose from unscented, a scientific refresher scent, and a potpourri smell. Rarely, it releases a scent cloud that will make your sim/sims nauseous.

Investigator Career

My sim signed up at the the police station as an investigator. It has open hours and you get paid a weekly stipend, as well as money you make for solving cases, writing stakeout reports for the police, or filling in as a policeman at the station (the option for my sim was to do "low level police work"). You get promotions based on three things: casework, logic, and stakeouts.

"Judging by the arm on the specimen, this would be a...human!"

"My super smart...brain...er, skills...have solved your dilemma!"

"Case closed! Wanna go grab a drink?"

He's actually kind of hidden here. I'm impressed.

When you stakeout an area, usually people will drive over and talk over an illegal deed in front of your sim. While he's super hidden. In the bushes. Yeah. XD

"So tell him the stuff's in warehous--wait, did that bush just move?"

"The plants will come alive and eat US in their salads!!" *bites nails*

Your sim can then write a stakeout report for the police and get paid a fee. My sim was always paid $250 for around an hour of writing. Good pay! (He's actually hacking the information database here, another option for investigators...)

Sharks and lobsters in the bay from below the water.

After a level or two of promotions, this door was a reward for reaching a certain level of the investigator career. He also received an award, a magnifying glass, a fingerprint kit, and various other things.

Doing laundry can get you some good moodlets, but you don't have to. You'll just miss out on the "clean clothes" and "clean sheets" moodlets.

The salon.

This man peed himself while talking to my sim. He was chatting, stopped, peed, and went back to talking. Odd fellow.

Gaining logic with the telescope meant that my sim found ten celestial bodies while I played him! I named all of them after neighbors.

"This arm looks remarkably similar to that other arm I investigated. Yes, this is most definitely a human arm as well!"?

Tattoos!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. :D
