I Love Mangos

Mar 24, 2010 12:00

God, I love mangos. I am having a nice wallow in some now, a snacktime mangovaganza . Trader Joe's (for those of not in the know due to long-term coma) stock the BEST bag o' frozen mango though, admittedly, they had been going through a green spell for the last few weeks. Out of season, one wonders? Well, they are good again now.

The vegetable garden is planted and redolent with the pungent tang of chicken manure. Does that make it sound nice? It's not. Shamefaced confession: I broke down and planted zucchini. *Droop* Forgive me. But I found some Centaurea Montana, for which I have been lusting lo these many years. I put 3 of them in the front yard. Now that I am reading about them, however, it seems I must worry about rust, which is disgusting. I'll spray, but I HATE TO SPRAY AND I AM TERRIBLE AT IT. My new Centaurea Montana will die slowly, horribly disfigured. Ah well. Such is the circle of life chez Jardin Skwashy. Maybe I'll remember to spray that copper fungicide after all.

Mrs. Skwashy dipped/painted ALL the buddleias with bt. last weekend! Isn't she the most awesomest? It seems we are still beset by those damn brown apple moths who breed in the most unbelievably excessive manner, the shameless little whores.
