was probably one of the worst movies i've seen in a long time. granted, this wouldn't have been my first choice in films to see, but the night belonged to my mum and this was her choice. she told us that she opted for this one because Dad and i probably wouldn't have enjoyed "Confessions of a Shopaholic" as much. i'm guessing she was wrong, but it's hard to say for sure.
the problem i had with the film was that it took itself way too seriously. i mean, the villians would say, "Gotcha!" as the good girl shrieked (and this was not meant to be funny). and i really had a tough time relating to the protagonists, as they gave little reason for me to like them. and the EXPOSITION, omg! it took the movie more than a half hour to explain the basic premise of the film - the same premise you got from watching a 30-second trailer. and the acting was awful, especially from Brendan Fraser, the movie's lead. and the jokes weren't funny, because they were going off the assumption that you actually related to the protagonists.
there were some good actors involved in the film whom i enjoyed seeing (Eliza Bennett, Jim Broadbent, Paul Bettany, Andy Serkis and Jennifer Connelly), but i question their sanity for having tied their name to such garbage.
however, i will give kudos for the painters of the landscapes, as they were very beautiful.
and that's what i think about the film.
