so now, i'm an old miser and a bit wiser. as in... next year, i'll know that "bring your own meat" will result in approximately 120 extra weiners in the host's fridge... aaaaand about 20 extra beers. heh, i've got enough junk food to last me the rest of the year, i think.
lots of good fun was indeed had. the keg wasn't completely tapped out, but we made of it what we could, as it frothed way too much. i'll definitely mention it to Supermarket Liquors when i return their stuff.
i was absolutely impressed by the turnout! OMGLOL! more than any party i've ever hosted, methinks. i think the whole "family friendly" thing in the invite helped a lot with that. i got to see a lot of old friends whom i don't get to see all that often anymore... and i got to introduce them to some new friends that i've made recently. that was cool.
i have a great appreciation for those who took admin control over certain aspects of the party, so that i could get drunk without having to worry if the food was prepared and accessible, the kids entertained, and so on. beLIEVE me, i actually didn't host the party. i just owned the home where it was held. and i'm glad for my neighbours who didn't complain, even when it went on until dawn.
if i were to do anything differently, i think i would've taken more responsibility with the grill... started the charcoals earlier, and not laze about as much as i did in regards to the food.
photos are on my Flickr for all to see, if you'd like. log in if you'd like to see whose kids were there (and add me for dog shakes if you haven't already).
many muchos grande thanks to those who could make it here... along with those who wanted to make it but couldn't. i don't think i've had a happier birthday! it REALLY meant a lot to me :D
