(a) Marriage in this state shall consist only of the union of one man and one woman.
(b) This state or a political subdivision of this state may not create or recognize any legal status identical or similar to marriage.
I don't see how the writers of this amendment could have missed what it says. Some lawyer is snickering to themselves right now. But the people who voted for it where hoping to ensure that none of that gay marriage stuff would be happening anywhere in Texas.
What they've wound up doing is making sure that no where in Texas is one man and one woman to be joined in any sort of marriage like bond. HAHHHAAAAHAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAA! I love it!
