[It has been a difficult week, and Brook is finding it difficult to sleep. As he is wont to do when this happens, Brook is looking for distractions. Around four in the morning he leaves the house for a long walk, so if for some reason you happen to be out near the edges of the forest, you might run into a skeleton. He'll probably be out there well ( Read more... )

worse month ever, it's nostalgic really, no foreshadowing whatsoever, tea makes everything better

[Ginko has been sleeping in the forest of late, with the good weather. He woke with the sun-- and has been slowly meandering his way back to the town for some food.

Perhaps their paths will cross while it's still early, near the forest's edge.]

[Perhaps they will! As he's not quite ready to leave yet, Brook is huuming a little tune while examining those sunglasses. He turns his head when he catches movement, sounding amused when he sees who it is.]

Yohohoho... Good morning, Ginko-san! I must say that I am more accustomed to bumping in to you on our roof than out here.

Heh... hello, Brook.

[a smile] I suppose you're right. [that or being dragged in for a meal with Sanji by main force]

[And it is here that he realizes he actually hasn't spoken with Ginko since before he died because the mun fails. He will just be falling into step then.]

But it's good to see you in any place. Are you out for a stroll, or do you have a destination in mind?

[he smiles a little at that-- less awkwardly than he might have, earlier. His death has already been noted and filed away as one of the thousand phenomenon he's bodily passed through.]

Ahh, no destinations, for now. Just enjoying the weather. Yourself?

Just walking - though the weather really has been excellent, now that you mention it.

Almost like home, even-- [he muses, looking around.

Only emptier, again.]

[Thank god he's used to living on the ocean, otherwise he'd be feeling twice as homesick as he is at the moment.]

If your weather is this pleasant, I think that I should like to visit your world someday. Ahh... perhaps without the mushi, however. [Because the stuff they did to people was creepy. >_>]

[a quiet chuckle] Maa, it's not very much like that, in my world. Things were out of balance, here.

[he grins] I wouldn't mind seeing your seas, myself. They sound very different than the ones I'm accustomed too.

From the way I understand it, it's far different from most people's worlds in general. It's rather difficult for me to imagine places with so little ocean - even after being here. There is a lot of beauty to be found on the sea.

[thoughtfully] Yes, it hems us all around. I never walk far without coming back to it again.

...what's one of the more beautiful things you've seen, in your travels?

Mmm... [He could name various places - he travelled through so many before they reached the Florian Triangle.

He could mention the view any sailor is gifted as they sail over Reverse Mountain, or any of the sights on the islands they visited - snowcapped mountains and tropical birds and a night sky so clear it reflected off of the ocean.

And maybe he'll talk about those later, but there's something that comes to mind much sharper than any of those, and he speaks very fondly of it.]

A baby island whale. This was before I joined Luffy's crew - before I had entered the Grand Line, even. My old crew was made up of musicians, you see, and the whale grew to love our songs. He'd follow our ship to listen to them, and sing along - as well as a whale can, of course.

Ohhh? [Obvious interest is obvious]

It followed you? [dolphins and sharks do the same-- for different reasons-- but for music? Huh.]

.....an island what?

[Music and company! He'd lost his mommy. T__T]

An island whale! They're the largest species of whale from my world. As a baby, he was already the size of a small boat.

Hoooo.

[An island whale. As in.....

....he's going out on a limb here and guessing that hyperbole doesn't have much of a foothold in your world.]

That sounds a sight indeed. And he followed you for the music?

Aye, he loved the music. It took quite some time to convince him to wait until morning for it, when we would turn in for the night. I used to take it upon myself to rouse my crewmates with song in the morning - such as I do even now - but there were times when Laboon would beat me to it!
