[Since Usopp has finally managed to literally worry himself sick, Brook has taken it upon himself to look after the Item's Shop while he's out. THEREFORE. Should anyone happen to come by the store, they will find an afro skeleton as staff. Provided if he can be found. There are all kinds of lovely gadgets and trinkets to distract himself with in ( Read more... )

[Have a semi-regular visitor to the shop. Hitsugaya's doing his thing, as per usual: ducking in to see if anything interesting has shown up. And now he has a personal mission to show Usopp up at something, after that paintball gun thing. Besides, he's pretty sure that, before long, he or Matsumoto will break something in their apartment. Best to have a spare of some of the smaller things on hand, just in case. He's poking through shelves, not paying much attention to anything beyond what's directly in front of him.]

[Another semi-regular, huh? Fancy they haven't met in person yet then.

Seeing someone has arrived, Brook wanders over, tipping his hat.] Good afternoon, sir! Can-

[Ohwaitherecognizesyou-] Eek! The shinigami!

[Initial reaction: duck behind something. Give him a second and he'll remember what you said about not doing your job here. |D]

[Hitsugaya stops, puts down the thing he had in his hands -- he's not even sure what it is -- and sighs before turning to...

... That is a very tall skeleton. He just blinks for a few moments. That is a very tall skeleton. He'd known about the skeleton part and gotten over that in no time flat. (Probably helped that he was confined to bed at the time and nothing could be weirder than freezing to death.) But. Hell.

No one told him the skeleton was twice his height.

That is a very tall skeleton. He stares for a moment before remembering that he's not supposed to be weirded out by anything. He's Hitsugaya Toushirou, Captain of the Tenth Division of the Gotei 13 and he doesn't get all freaked out by weird things like walking, freaking tall skeletons.

He takes a breath, inanely glad that Brook decided to duck behind something because that means he doesn't have to crane his neck so badly to look up, and sighs.]

Yes? And?

[Why is the skeleton so damned tall?]

It's just that- [He peeks out from behind the object.] ...My, you're short! Half my height, even! [Why is he afraid again? Sure, size is of no importance when it comes to how powerful a person is, but he's suddenly finding it hard to be afraid of a death god that barely comes up to his pelvis.]

[A death god who is unable to death god while here, on top of that. Okay, coming back out of hiding now, though he is a bit more hesitant than he might be with other people.] Ah, but it is no matter, no matter. Y-You did say that you wouldn't be carrying out your duties while in Luceti, after all, did you not?

[Have an unimpressed glare. He's not that short, thanks. You're just freakishly tall. And what does height have to do with anything anyway? It's not like it's a reliable indicator of power.]

There's no point to it here. [He just shrugs. He's just... going with it. Really. But call him short again and he might have to renege on that promise.]

[...Shorty- okay, kidding. >.>]

Good, good. You'll have to excuse my behavior - I had momentarily forgotten that part of our conversation!

But what brings you here then?

[He waves a hand. Whatever. Just don't call him short again.]

Just looking around. Always good to see what's shown up in here.

Ah! I like to do the same. All kinds of things are showing up today, actually. [A few of which have given him nervous pause. But handwave.] I shan't keep you then - you are free to browse!

[Well, of course he's free to browse. It's a store.

He picks up a... Uhm. He doesn't know. But it looks like something he has in the apartment and that means Matsumoto will break it before too long. What had she called it? A toaster? At any rate, he's taking it. And he's poking around the shelves a little more, finally picking up a small, rather ornate vase and snorting at it.] Such useless junk.

May I see it then? [It's a shiny. 8D]

[With a shrug, he holds the vase out. Have at it, Brook.] You ever find anything really useful here? [Even he's not sure why he keeps coming back. It's something to do, maybe.]

That would depend on what you might consider useful. Where you dismiss the vase, I could think of a few things to do with it, for instance!

[He raises a brow.] Might make a handy target for that paintball gun.

It might! Or- Wait. Paintball gun?

[Yes. The paintball gun. The one he tried to learn how to use with a sniper around. Damn Usopp anyway.] Was in here not that long ago. The tree outside the door might still have a few splatters of paint on it.
