[Sunrises are beautiful from the top of the Straw Hat's rooftop. Brook makes it a point to see each and every one of them, watching the world around them stir to life as he plays the violin. He's been inseperable from it and his other instruments since everything has gone back to normal. There is so much relief in being able to do this again, and ( Read more... )

[That's somewhat unexpected. Hitsugaya stares at the message for a few moments before he decides that he simply can't avoid Brook forever.]

Well enough. [There's a pause, and then small inkspots as Hitsugaya taps the page with the pen. What to say, what to say.]

It was taken care of.

That's good. I'm glad to hear that.

[Some thoughtless scribbles appear in the corner of the page; he keeps his hands busy as he debates whether or not to ask the next question.]

It was something private, wasn't it?

[Hitsugaya hums in assent. It's private, yes, but he's the one that freaked out in front of Brook for no apparent reason.]

It's something that happened shortly before I arrived here.

[None of his concern then, which is about what he thought.]

I apologize that you had to experience any of it again.

It happens. [It's not really okay and Hitsugaya does appreciate the sentiment -- although he doesn't really know it came from Brook -- but he really doesn't do apologies. To him, they're pretty much meaningless words until action back them up. In fact, he'd take actions that convey apology over words. Brook checking up on him was apology enough.]

[He feels better saying it though, especially since he knows it was probably partially his fault that it happened.]

I would hope not.

[There's a sigh that goes unrecorded by the journals. Scribble, scribble, scribble.]

I shan't pry any further, however. If it has been handled, it has been handled. [Though considering how he himself has been feeling over a month after his own experience, he has some doubts. =/]

[Damn it, Brook. Why do you seem so concerned? He can't just close the journal on you. Tap, tap, tap.]

It's something that is as-yet unresolved back home.

[That's the worst part of all of it: He doesn't know how it turns out. He may have been forced to admit that it wasn't his fault, but that doesn't mean he's good with it all.]

[...]

A matter that will remain that way until you return to your own world then?

Indeed so. [More tapping.] Even then, no favorable outcome is guaranteed.

I had about gathered that from the nature of it. [This is confirmation though, and he's sad to hear it.]

How would it be handled if you were back at your home?

[There comes a time when Hitsugaya just cannot beat around the bush anymore; he's never been one to speak vaguely or in circles.]

Hope one of us survives it. [And by "one of us," he means her. His surviving would be nice, but hers is paramount.]
