I was kinda pissed today because the internet was out when I got home. Then the internet came back online, and I played Minecrack until N. got back and it's been shit ever since.
Then while Dargon and I were waiting on 8:30 to roll around, I decided to see if Fallout 3 would work since I finally figured out how to get my video card drivers updated.
I got a SecuROM "Please insert official disk." error. Just to remind you guys, it is an official disk and one I bought full price the day the game came out.
I've really had it. I'm through dicking around and trying to get this game to work. I've tried, Dargon's tried, and if two gamer/computer geeks can't get a damn game to work, there's a problem.
I'm hand-writing Bethesda a letter and mailing it, with the game, back to them. Maybe it'll make a statement when they receive their product, complete with the promo poster and CD I got for pre-ordering it, back in the mail.
I've become so accustomed to disappointment when it comes to FO3 that I'm not even seeing red like I used to. It's just this sort of resigned acceptance that I'll never get a chance to ever fucking play this game. Period. Fifty god damn dollars and many hours down the drain. And I haven't a lot of money or time.
This is the best argument for pirating games yet. If I, a paying customer, am going to be treated like a criminal, I suppose I should go ahead and act like one.
