(no subject)
well.. lots of free time...
the meeting i had with the praise band was awesome... i got chinese food and we just sat around eating and playing games for 2 hours... it was very relaxing. It was nice just to chill... korey and "kitty" couldnt make it...so it was just me, kelly, amanda, stevo, and john. but its all good, cuz we had fun. we played mad gab... grrr... NEVER LET BROTHERS PLAY TOGETHER! so yea.. it was guys v gals... and ummmm.. yeah.... the whole brother thing helped them A LOT!
but anyways... after the group left, steve was getting his stuff together (he's our leader) adn we were just talking.. and i told him i got hooked into doing children's church... basically they needed a volunteer over the summer to fill in for one sunday.. so i volunteered.. and turns out i wasnt allowed cuz i had to talk to lanny, and then he had to talk to the lady in charge.. so i shrugged it off.. but yea... the lady found me and handed me a sheet, and i'm scheduled til AUGUST!!! steve laughed at me.. said it happened to him once... except in his case, he offered to help the girl he was dating one sunday.. and he got scheduled for awhile... lol... so then we started talking about music.. and he mentioned his leaving the group... and we talked about how the whole group freaked.. and then he said "well i'd like u to think about taking over the group".... *jaw drop* ... so yea... we discussed how its only like one step between me and him.. and how he's been talking to Lanny (youth pastor and his dad) about me taking over.. and he's even talked with his brother John (who's in the group) about giving the position to me. Both of them talked with Lanny, and so i'm the "hand-picked" new leader... so yea.. i have til march to decide, and then i'll start working with steve on taking over. but basically he wanted to talk with me cuz he didnt want to just come up to me and say "ashl i'm leaving, ure in charge.. have fun"... so thats the plan... he siad that i'm the person they want to take over.. the group doesnt know about this yet.. but thats ok... but basically he said i'm the right person cuz i have both the vocal training (so i could work with the vocalists) and i have the musical training (so i could work with the instrumentalists)... soo YAY!!! *happy dance* but yea... this is GREAT! so i'm the "fresh" new face they think the band needs... he started working with the music in 95.. and he was fresh out of highschool, so the youth knew him.. so he was close to them... but now i'm the one close to the group... i'm the person graduating... yayness!! so yea.. i'm soo excited... nothing is final until march... or september... cant remember which.. lol... *shrugs* oh wells... but unless someone else shows up that is "more qualified" than me.. i'll be the next leader of Rabbi Lucas! yayness..
well.. the kids are arguing.. and i'm in charge.. so yea... its time to be a referee! *whistle blows* NUMBER 5->10 minute penalty! *whistle blows*
