slightly disorganized drabble/ficlet dump, idk i had a lot of trouble completing full stories so here are some of them in a shortened degree
drabbles
sungmin/qri like a chump
They are quiet people by nature, and even more reserved sitting at the table across from each other, legs crossed just like their folded chopsticks. “Hey,” Sungmin tries after a long blank of silence when Qri looks down at her iridescent and manicured hands again for the fifteenth time, “you’ve got really pretty nails.”
“Thanks,” she actually smiles and it’s like the room physically lightens up, “I just love the color pink.”
And then it’s his turn to spin the world on its axis with a blinding smile. “Pink’s my favorite color.”
kyuhyun/sooyoung i'm with stupid
It’s abuse, it really is, the way they keep coming back to each other, years upon years amidst broken hearts, moronic girlfriends and chump boyfriends, tension created from distance and tears from diluted misunderstandings, but here they are; two inches away on a romantic sofa, thighs grazing, eyes in keen concentration, and forks prepared in terse hands.
“The last dumpling is mine, Sooyoung, don’t you even lift that fork up or I swear to god.’
“Leave me alone, Kyuhyun, it’s mine and I’ve suffered the five hundred mile flight to prove it.”
“I don’t know who told you that being a shikshin is endearing, but it’s not so move over,” there’s a ruffle in the air and unaware fingers get stabbed by the jabs of a fork, and in the end, Sooyoung is sitting on top of Kyuhyun with a sofa cushion, her mouth filled to the brim, juice spilling down from the sides on to Kyuhyun as she chews with satisfaction.
“You were the one who told that me that, fatass - who else would have I learned it from? And I ate that for your own good, I can see your new double chin from a frightening angle.”
“Sharing is caring,” Kyuhyun gruffs, wiping the juice off his face before tackling Sooyoung to the other side of the sofa and creaming her in for a disgusting kiss, until she spits out the last of the victimized dumpling on the ground with a shriek. Food lost, a calibrated half-win for Kyuhyun.
So, this is love.
woohyun/hyomin noona neumo ballsy
And the thing is, he’s supposed to call her noona because of the age difference but he finds it so hard to do so, partly because of the way he easily towers over her tiny little frame but also because it seems like every time she takes a step she vomits butterflies and pretty things and encompasses everything about the word youth.
“H-here’s s-some flowers for you, n-noona,” Woohyun hands her a bouquet quite sheepishly, accidentally staring at the buttons on her chest as if it was smarter than making eye-contact, “to celebrate wrapping filming up.”
Hyomin takes them and laughs, almost mockingly, he thinks, but her lips curl up and her eyes twinkle with peculiar delight, so much so it forces him to lift up his eyes and stare right back.
It hurts.
kangta/victoria cake love
Time stops along with the click of the oven timer, signaling that the bundt cake is done and the fruits of their joint labor have amounted to something, albeit small, something concrete and Victoria feels her hand tingle when they bend over and share a mitt to take the confected good out together and place it on the counter. Their hands meet again at the middle when they both go for grabbing the vanilla coating at the same time, and Kangta acts shyly about it before letting her take it first, like a gentleman.
But later on, when the counter is clear and all that’s left is the cake, the thought of shy leaves the kitchen when he feeds Victoria cake on top of the counter in the dark. And maybe Victoria feels the tingles again.
junhyung/hara breaking up is a joke
People say that breaking up is the hardest thing to do, but for Hara it’s surprisingly easy. She feels nothing when she returns the closet full of clothes she stole from Junhyung over time, nothing trivial when she gives him back the fluffy white teddy bear whose size could rival the biggest province in China, and she really doesn’t feel much when she says, rather maturely and grown, “It’s for the best, this time.” She places her hands in his, one last moment of reflection, and he grunts (because he always grunts) softly, “Yeah,” and then he leans in for the last hug, the last kiss, the last goodbye, and nothing more. When Hara wakes up the next morning and realizes that she still has a boyfriend, she debates whether or not to give those “people” more credit than they deserve.
jiyeon/shoes
“I can’t find my shoes,” Jiyeon cries, quite possibly for the hundredth time that morning underneath piles of ransacked clothing on the floor of her and Hyomin’s hotel room.
“Trace your steps last night,” Hyomin mumbles between brushing her teeth, her blinged out toothbrush (courtesy of Qri’s bedazzler) hanging out and dripping toothpaste on to the floor.
Jiyeon grimaces an impossible ugly, throwing a sparkly belt in Hyomin’s general direction. And fails.
“Hey,” Soyeon catches the belt from outside the room and decks in with caution. “I heard yelling. What’s up?”
“I can’t find my shoes!”
“Well, where did you have them last?” Logic spells smart with Soyeon. Jiyeon grimaces again.
“I can’t remember otherwise I wouldn’t be freaking out!” she cries before retracting her frown back with caution, “oh, I was with Boram last night. We fell asleep watching a movie in the living room but I don’t remember much after that.”
“Boram,” Soyeon bellows walking to the living room leaving Hyomin and Jiyeon no choice but to follow suit.
“Yes,” Boram replies, aptly sitting at the kitchen counter, feet dangling from the floor as she happily munches on a banana.
“Where are Jiyeon’s shoes?”
“What shoes? Oh,” she puts the banana down and puts a finger up to signal the process of thinking and Jiyeon's grimace continues from behind Hyomin, “I took all the things from the living room with me to the bathroom after I dragged Jiyeon to her bed. And then I took a bath.”
“What?” Boram continues when Soyeon’s deadpan stare doesn’t erase, “I knew you would’ve yelled at me if you had woken up to living room full of junk, so I had a preemptive idea to clean before you woke up.”
“Dumping things into another area doesn’t equate into cleaning, unnie,” Soyeon chides before disappearing again into the bathroom and coming out moments later with a soaked bathrobe, a nonfunctioning remote and two drenched red pumps, handing them pathetically to Jiyeon. “Look familiar?”
“Unnie!” Jiyeon screams, holding her shoes with two outstretched arms as the excess water falls onto the ground much to Soyeon’s dismay, “did you take a bath with everything too or what?”
“I guess everything fell into the bath after I got out,” Boram shrugs easily offering Jiyeon a piece of banana as if it solves everything. (It doesn’t.) “Let’s go shopping before our schedule starts. I’ll buy you brand new shoes.”
“No, I want these shoes,” Jiyeon answers abruptly before letting herself think about it more, and then taking it back. “Okay, but you owe me breakfast and a new handbag too. You know, for emotional distress.”
“Fine,” Boram agrees and they walk out, leaving Soyeon to clean the remnants of water stains and the dripping of Hyomin’s toothbrush as she watches on in silence, happily.
siwon/kyuhyun airplane delight
It’s out of character, but sometimes Kyuhyun dreams. He’ll dream of intangible things, yes, but other things will slip in the wavelengths and he’ll dream of things more real: people. This recurring dream, the one where he meets Siwon backstage and their hands meet after miles of hours of distance is perhaps the best one and the one that tugs him awake to reality with reluctance the most, just seconds after their hands meet and his pulse races and his fingertips turn red with all the fresh blood pumping through them.
“Hey,” Siwon says, his grin nonplussed and totally smarmy when Kyuhyun wakes up and remembers he’s done dreaming and he’s sitting on an airplane to some unnamed foreign land with his members, and he thuds his food tray with an awkward slam from his elbow, “what were you dreaming about so intensely? You wouldn’t stop smiling.”
Kyuhyun considers telling the truth, wonders what Siwon’s reaction would be if he was to just reach over and grab his hand into his own and say something overly prose filled like “if was meant to be, it was meant to be,” but decides against it when Siwon’s smarmy smile doesn’t disappear and he takes it to be one full of ridiculously chiding instead. So he points at his elbow and the tray and mutters to the best of his ability, “Food.”
two sentence ficlets
boram/soyeon tom &jerry
They are each others halves, together a whole. When Boram tells Soyeon in confidence that she needs to quit the band and go back home, Soyeon doesn’t have the courage to tell her she’s afraid of being alone.
donghae/kyuhyun sleep sleep butterfly
He knows it’s creepy because Eunhyuk has told him numerous times that it is, but Donghae can’t help but marvel at the way Kyuhyun looks like when he sleeps with his legs curled up into a fetal ball and the dainty movements of his eyelashes fluttering with each breath. He looks like an angel, Donghae muses, before he moves in and falls asleep right besides him - it might have been a little abnormal but Donghae’s sure he could think of a reasonable explanation after Kyuhyun will wake up and wonder.
changmin/sooyoung i could be your hero, baby
Changmin watches hopelessly as Sooyoung lifts herself onto Siwon’s lap, gentle, fragile and sadly as if he was the only thing that matters. The wake ends and everyone in the room fills out, someone murmuring how sweet it is when Siwon pushes the tendrils out of Sooyoung’s face and kisses her temple and Changmin knows he could’ve easily been that guy to protect her from it all.
yunho/heechul good guys go bad
Their first kiss is chaste and Yunho almost regrets it when their lips pull apart too soon. Their last one consists of too much feeling and Yunho forgets to tell Heechul he’ll miss him when he gets sent away to the army.
henry/krystal it just happened, brah
Their burgers sit in the middle of them, half-uneaten and they speak in slow, undetectable English, but the fright remains pervasive in between their shaky yet giddy feelings. “How are we going to tell Amber,” Krystal bites her finger in lieu of her burger until Henry reaches over and softly takes her hand, comforting her at the unexpected turn of events that neither saw coming.
eunhyuk/gyuri the cowardly chicken
Gyuri and Eunhyuk used to be something a long time ago, back when stairways in radio stations used to be acceptable places for dating. It’s 2012 now and she’s upgraded to dating on the streets and something called hand-holding and Eunhyuk is somewhere back in time, still trying to hold on to the idea of dating with masks on.
sungmin/luna coyote pedo
Watching someone grow up before your eyes is just strange, and Sungmin feels all sorts of uncomfortable watching Luna grind fluidly up against a cowboy in her musical, so much that he’s at the bottom of his chair by the end of the night. “Did you watch me oppa? Did you like it?” she asks with flirtatious and looming eyes backstage and Sungmin knows his lips are twitching with a lie when he shakes his head, “No.”
eunhyuk/boa cant hold my liquour
Somehow they are the only ones left celebrating at the congratulatory party, for what, Eunhyuk can’t remember, but the walls are slurring and he's revealing too much of his gummy smile that his sober self would regret. “You’ll regret that,” Boa says, a tad sheepish after Eunhyuk courageously and dumbly kisses her, narrowly missing the forthright of her lips, and when she struggles to carry him out of the party she wonders how much more awkward will they become in the embarassment and echoes of Eunhyuk’s drunken laughter.
kyuhyun/hyomin we got married except to other people
They get stranded on an airplane out of China together, typhoon awkwardly giving them a chance to know each other and bond over their respective We Got Married experiences, love in a foreign country and all that, shyly laughing when the plane starts and the turbulence begins and Kyuhyun’s drink accidentally pours over her lap easy. “She’s out of your league,” they tell him when she walks past them in the music hallway, her doll-like eyes radiating when Hyomin bows towards them (him) and walks away, strangers again like how they used to be.
siwon/sooyoung cruel incestions
Siwon has a crush on Sooyoung; and it’s sort of impossible not to when she constantly flips her long locks at the dinner table, purses her lips in full when someone says something not to her liking and crosses her legs and then uncrosses them like a pattern and a mean tease. It’s just a shame she also happens to be his new stepsister.
jonghyun/jessica i can't quit you
Nerves get the better of her when she wakes up in the morning, fighting the usual inclination to walk out and leave like her old bad habits but there's something about the way he's sound asleep next to her this time, docile and vulnerable that makes her think twice. “Hey,” Jonghyun wraps his arms warmly and possessive around her back, snuggling his face into Jessica’s neck selfishly as if this is where it belongs an hour later in the kitchen while she makes them coffee, “I forgot how good you smelled in the morning.”
minho/krystal fate says you can't escape me so why do you try woman
It’s years later and Krystal’s grown into a full woman where she’s got the legs and paycheck to prove it, and they are the ones who bump at the corner of a congested crosswalk, papers flying and fingers touching in a contest to see who can pick them up the fastest. Minho wins, of course, and it doesn’t get any better when he asks her gently if he could spend the night at her place because he’s new (again) in town.
l/jiyeon dysfunctional barbie doll
Myungsoo is pretty and Jiyeon hates him for it, even more so after she dolls him up in the reddest of her lipsticks and dons one of her comeback wigs on his head for good measure. “You don’t like it?” Myungsoo frowns noticing Jiyeon’s disdain and she shakes her head back, almost feeling guilty before deciding to lean in for a good kiss and have a little fun with it.
