The days, they are a-creepin' up!

I can't believe how April 23rd snuck up on me this year.  Usually I see it coming (I'm high enough level now I can take a 10 on my Spot check).  Not only is today the anniversary of the deaths of Shakespeare and Cervantes, but as every conspiracy-head and Discordian knows, April 23rd is the day they imminetized the Eschaton.  Thank you Robert Anton Wilson for teaching me big, stupid words.

One of my few pals at work greeted me this morning with what may be a new stupid word.  "Well, if it isn't my favorite ironicist."  We were neither of us sure that the word actually existed, his definition being "one who deals in or practices irony."  Give the man coining credit, I say, since I'm not about to look it up.  I'll take compliments even if they rely on home-made lingo.  On reflection, though, I realize I should have responded with, "That's quite the compliment, seeing as it comes from my favorite doo-doo head."  That's another term I doubt is in the dictionary, but I think we can all agree on the definition, yes?

Another thing that almost snuck up on me is my vacation, which starts once I'm done tomorrow evening.  I'll have all of next week off and the following Monday as a bonus-burger.  No one's asked what I intend to do on my time off, and I'm glad.  Perhaps folks are finally getting tired of feigning interest in the lives of others, especially mine.  But since you're reading this, that means you're a journal buddy and that makes you an exception, so here's the big scoop: we ain't doin' nuttin' fer our vacation.  It's lay-about time, boys and girls.  I'm going to do all those things I've been meaning to do but haven't had the time because of work . . . maybe.  So far on the list is cleaning the apartment and human cloning.  Just so no one gets their nose out of joint, I'm planning on using the Shroud of Turin for my base material.  Base material for the cloning, I should say.  I was thinking about using sponges and Soft Scrub for the bathroom.

Does anyone know if you can download video files and play them on an XBox?  I heard you can do this with Netflix, but I'm wondering if I could do the same things with .avi, .mkv or .omg files from my anime sites.  If this is the case, I may never need cable TV again . . . well, once this season of In Treatment is over.

anime, work, words
