So, I've been home little over a week from the seventh circle of hell, otherwise known as BHP Mining Area C. After being stuck there for four and a half weeks, I get a phone call this morning (at 8 am! I'm on holiday for crying out loud!) asking me if I'd be willing to come back to work a week early and go back there.
I'd really have liked the idea of saying "I respectfully decline your offer." Otherwise known as "Bwhahaha, not a chance in hell" but, unfortunately, I find myself agreeing to go back there, simply because I'm the only one that can. That and I don't like the idea of any of the other techs going there and messing up my good work. That and they want us back there in a week, and they couldn't even get someone else mobilised in that time.
So, here I go again. Once more in to the breach, as it were. Yet another week completely devoid of contact with the outside world. Why would I do this, knowing it makes me miserable? Good question. Respect for my trade. Respect for my co worker. And a whole load of money. Mainly the money.
