Interesting Trivia
Here's something about the show I didn't know before, and heck, it may even help write fics.
You know those long lines of runes that Bob writes (and that he was teaching itty wee Harry?)
A friend of mine, a fan of the books and show but not in fandom, is also an accomplished computer programmer, and he realized something. Those symbols aren't random. They're modified versions of the characters that make up APL (A Programming Language. Those hackers and their acronyms.)
What's better? All of the spells are valid APL programs. The formula for resurrection? Conway's Game of Life (wiki here)
It just tickles me pink.

Thanks to Beachkid, here's a cap to compare with-- from Birds of a Feather. Some of the symbols are more 'spookified' and harder to guess at then others, while some are more obvious. My friend said he wouldn't have caught it if he hadn't been studying the Game of Life recently, and recognized the pattern.
