Dr. Benway, I presume?

one of the most mindbending aspects of synchronicity seems to be
that simply thinking about it makes it happen. please note that
in my previous post, this very evening, i referred not only to
synchronicity, but Robert Anton Wilson's Cosmic Trigger
as well.

so i'm watching CSI - which is a fantastic show, by the way - and
the case involves a person who changed gender from male to female.
the character's names were/are Walter/Wendy.

if you know anything about the history of electronic music, you
can probably place the reference: Walter/Wendy Carlos, pioneer
of early electronic music and, incidentally, a transgender person.
the reference was obviously intentional, but it did get me paying
a bit more attention than usual.

towards the end of the episode they discover that Wendy's counselor
was once a man named Dr. Benway. if you familiar with
William S. Burroughs you will immediately recognize the name.

now, i have yet to read any of Burroughs stuff, but i am familiar
with the character from the movie verson of Naked Lunch.
more importantly, however, i remember reading about some synchronicities
associated with that very name in, you guessed it, Cosmic Trigger.

synchronicities regarding things known to be synchronous.
will the madness ever end...?
