So over Christmas break, my family did the usual tradition we have of watching a movie. This year, we watched Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. All of us have read the book, and I think all of us have seen the original Swedish movie as well.
As it turns out, the Hollywood version is less faithful to the book than the Swedish movie was, but it was still reasonably good. Rooney Mara does a fantastic job as Lisbeth. Daniel Craig was ok as Blomqvist too, though Blomqvist is kind of a schlub who doesn't do anything but serve as the point of view anyway.
I don't have any Xmas loot. My family doesn't really do gifts anymore. Although, I am now inundated with new gadgets. I bought a Galaxy Nexus (the first smartphone with Android 4 AKA Ice Cream Sandwich) as well as a Vita recently. Mmm shiny new gadgets. I love them.
And this weekend is Comiket 81 in Japan. I told hikarugenji he should go.
