I too had forgotten--although I studied Eco in bschool--this kid asked me to teach him maang ki loch--finally managed with his Hindi textbook.
On Math, read Chapter Zero if you haven't. It is by a mathematician I think, but it's on the concept--how two does not exist- it's just something you and I agree to call two..
The coauthor of A certain ambiguity- another book on math-said math is like sex- the fun is in doing it--
weell--both would then be too important to be taught by doers only:)
