So let me get this straight: you made a one-off episode of a show you had no plans of ever expanding. It received, in response, a HUGE cult following, a GLOBAL fan base, and a PETITION signed by thousands of people asking for it to be made into a full-length series.
So what do you do?
You recast 2 of the 3 main characters to be younger, you make the head scary vampire "more down to earth," and you announce that you want to make the show "less gothy, more funny."
I.
I am flabbergasted.
I have no words.
When people like your show so much, they want you to actually, you know, make it, you should ask yourself: what is it that they like about it? I can tell you: they like the scary vampires, they like the chemistry between the three main characters, and they like that it's dark and gothy.
Dorks.
I have watched 15 minutes of the "new" pilot, and I am not attached in any way to the new main characters.
Hrm.
Oh, and BTW, you announced that the original pilot will not be considered cannon in the new show. You REALLY should not fuck with cannon. It makes the fan girls angry, and I think you've pushed them enough for one day.
