I'm angry. I'm insulted. I'm not likely to buy from these clowns again.

I received a reply from McAfee(tm), and it included this rather obvious statement:
McAfee(tm) pop-ups serve as reminders to ensure that your subscription will not lapse.
Now, my problem is that it refused to turn off these popups, so I wrote back:
It would behoove your company to remember that access to the internet is not universal.
and they replied with another email demonstrating their unwillingness to read what I'd written. It included these lines:
McAfee(tm) SecurityCenter checks for updates every four hours. If you are not connected to the Internet when SecurityCenter checks for an update, it will try again every 15 minutes until you are connected.

Note: Virus definitions (DAT files) are updated weekly. The default setting for updates is to be installed automatically. We recommend you update manually if you haven't received an update within one week. Neglecting to do this will put your computer at risk, as you will not be protected against newly discovered viruses.

Now, I am not, in case anyone was wondering, an idiot. Nor was I unaware of anything they have said to me so far. However, I was laboring under the delusion that this company actually cares about its customers.
They have not answered my original complaint with anything relevant. They have not even acknowledged my original complaint. They have, however, promised to remove me from further mailings. Incidentally, I was mistaken about the date on which they had sent the email that started this whole thing. It was earlier than I had thought. But I digress; The fact remains that they have not offered to remedy this rather annoying problem, and their unwillingness to do more than (I'm basing this on their replies) skim the emails I've sent them insults and angers me. They have not even acknowledged that their program refuses to accept the idea that it has no possible way of calling home.
Add to this the fact that this stupid update thingy is the ONLY facet of my complaint they have deigned to answer, and Skreyola is most definitely NOT a happy camper, NOT likely to give McAfee(TM) any further patronage, and NOT amused by this offer:
Customers have been asking us for a backup CD they can keep at home, in case of emergencies. For just $12.95 (introductory special pricing), we
