Sun!
I'm in San Francisco for the weekend, visiting Chad & Libby who just recently moved down here. I left Seattle in the pouring rain around noon yesterday and arrived to gorgeous sunny weather in San Francisco. Chad picked me up at the airport and drove me back to their new (lovely) apartment. We wandered over to a boulangerie for a bite of lunch and a game of Upwords - fun! Then it was back to the apartment to meet up with Libby and head out to the Symphony to see the premiere of The Flowering Tree, a new opera by John Adams. It was fantastic! Adams is one of my favourite composers anyway, and this piece was outstanding. The performance itself was also excellent, especially the woman singing the role of Kumudha. After the symphony, we had dinner at a lovely little restaurant called Absinthe. They make great cocktails and a lovely steak.
Today is another gorgeous sunny day and we're going to head up north to Marin and maybe on to Sonoma. Whee!
