Today for my one hour lunch break I decided to do what I've done before- Eat Taco Bell in the Best Buy parking lot while listening to the Jim Rome show or Day to Day on NPR. After eating my chilli cheese burrito ,which is a rare burrito only found at selected Taco Bells, my mexi melt with no fiesta sauce, which I don't even know why exactly that I don't want the fiesta sauce and contribute this to my wife who demands that the fiesta sauce is crap, and my two soft meat tacos, which I won't order with lettuce ever again, I chug my Mountain Dew, but not all the way because I want something to drink on the drive back to work, and I then I make my way inside the store.
I stare helplessly at the 40 inch 120hz Samsung LCD playing Pirates of the Caribean: Dead Men's chest on Blu Ray. It is a sight to behold. If anybody comes near me and glances at the screen I have to inform them of the 120hz refresh rate and how this is the mother of all high definition televisions. I usually get a half hearted response, which is understandable. Most people, women included, view these high def tvs with a caution that reminds of me of being in the men's room. There's something about this part of the store in which the technology is so profound that it overwhelms its viewers, and they don't want to seem dumbfounded in all its glory. Do I really feel like that when walking into the men's room? So when I told this butch dyke about the Samsung she had stumbled upon with her butch dyke lover, she gave me some languid response.
"Oh. Yeah...it looks good."
They sort of stared at the screen, but their body language was that of a experiencing a one-man-band street show. Yeah it's cool, but it aint that cool.
They then proceeded off to the DLP section. Granted, I love DLPs, and I am the proud owner of a 42 inch Samsung DLP, but the tv they were passing over is so much better. There really isn't any arguement.
Wow, I really need to start going back to the gym during lunch. What will I do next during my lunch break? Throw rocks at cats?
