SGA/Bandslash ficlet for bexless: Entropy

So bexless asked for a Frank/Gerard quantum mirror drabble, and I wrote this. Um. I don't think this is exactly what you wanted, but I hope you like it anyway, hon!

“I’ll be fine,” Frank says, cutting him off. Frank’s hardcore, shit, he lost a limb and kept on kicking. Quantum mirror shenanigans aren’t going to get him down. “And hey, look me up, okay? I’ve got a fucking hook, Gee. That is-”

“So cool, right,” Gerard says, rolling his eyes, but he’s smiling again.

Frank bounces up to him, pulls him into a quick hug and says, “Dude, bring me an eye patch and I’ll be yours forever.”

When he peals back, Gerard’s blushing, red blooming up from his neck, but he says, “Okay,” and shakes his hair out of his face, grins wider.

I love this universe SO MUCH.

Hee! thanks, hon! I kind of want to write Gerard courting hook-for-hand Frank now!

Frank would totally rock his hook, and Gerard would be smitten for life.

Yess. But there should be wooing! Geeky, awkward wooing!

Perhaps also Frank gets Gerard to do something DANGEROUS.

Oh noes! And then sometime happens and Frank has to rescue him! And feels totes bad about it, too! And offers to take him out to dinner to make up for the GAPING HOLE in his leg or something. (chill out, Gee, it's not a *hole*. It's barely a scratch. It didn't even *bleed*, okay?) (gerard pouts and tells him it took at least five years of his life and that warrants at least two meals. and unlimited coffee for the next two weeks)

I just keep picturing Frank scratching at his chin with his hook going all "Hmmmmmm" and it's making me LAUGH LIKE A LOON. There's something wrong with me.

*giggles* Nothing wrong with you at ALL! Does it weird Gerard out? Or does he find it strangely attractive? Tell me more!

It takes Gerard a while to get used to it! He keeps flinching, because he can't understand how it doesn't HURT. But he also thinks it's really cool how Frank can still handle utensils and stuff, and how Frank doesn't let it stop him from doing ANYTHING because he's totally not handicapped at all, and then at night when Frank wakes up and his hand that isn't there itches like CRAZY, Gerard'll take his mind off of it without being all 'poor Frank' and Frank LOVES Gerard for that.

Aww, of course he does!

So when does Gerard give Frank the eye patch? Does he do it immediately, as a conversation starter, or does he wait a little while and then give it to him as a 'I rly like you' present once they've gotten to know each other?

I think he buys it and then talks himself out of giving it to Frank on the way there, but then he meets Frank and Frank's just sort of grinning at him and Gerard has this total brain fart and just wordlessly hands over the eye patch and frank bursts out laughing!

They are so MFEO. ♥

I'm a little concerned about the hook, though. Does Frank take it off during ~intimate~ moments? Frank kind of flails around a lot and I'm afraid Gerard's gonna lose an eye (or worse! D:) and then he'll need the eye patch, okay?

*dies laughing* holy crap, I didn't even think of that. Frank + hook = danger for EVERYONE AROUND HIM. Oh god, oh god, I can't stop laughing and now I'm picturing Gerard screwing a cork on the end of it to minimize damage! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME???

Yeah, but the cork would break because Frank constantly bangs the end of his hook on things! Gerard special orders this giant *mitten* thing with a lovely skeleton pattern. Frank's a little dubious at first because he doesn't want to cover his hook -- the hook is awesome, okay? -- but he can't resist it once he sees it.

Now I'm imaging Frank doing a documentary about whales and gesturing emphatically with his giant mitten. ♥

I shouldn't be reading this at work, because everyone now thinks I'm crazy - the giant mitten is HILARIOUS.
