Strangetown Round 1: LFT, The Bin Students & Shifting Paradymes
Warnings: The usuals; WooHoo, crappy English, probably some typos, many pictures...
Bin students (Student Housing, Terrano, Davis), first semester
The biggest dorm at La Fiesta Tech was the place I chosed as a home for all the 6 college sims from the family bin (William Williamson, Blossom Moonbeam, Klara Vonderstein, Almeric & Aldric Davis and Stella Terrano). These 6 sims originally come as 3 different households, and my first thought was to keep them seperated. But since 1 household is both more convenient and interesting, I decided to move them all into the same dorm after all.
Even if their bios state they don´t get along too great, they still talk about rather private stuff (however, non of them has actually ever
WooHooed though!)
More WooHoo talk at the shopping store... It seems like Sarah Love and this dormie are doing some resource on the matter...
Off to the makeovers, starting with the ever so beautiful Stella.
Aldric. I think he and his brothers are clones when it comes to appearance (as well as personality and aspiration). They both also look practicly identical with Castor Nova and the three of them are almost straight face one templates.
Almeric. Despite the fact that he has the exact same personality and aspiration as his brothers, he has always struck me as somewhat more serious and maybe even more ambitious for some reason...
Klara - an awesome sim! :)
William, handsome, but he has for some reason never really caught my interest. Well, I´ll give him a new chance!
Blossom - a really funny girl.
The LTWs. Almeric wants to become the Major, Blossom wants 6 grandchildren, Aldric wants to become a Rock God, Klara Head of SCIA, William wants to earn 100 000 § and Stella wants to become Chief of Staff.
First night at the dorm, and while Blossom tries to watch a football game, thoughtless Almeric is standing in her way...
William quickly finds the easel. Last time I played him, he spent half his time painting to make money. Hope it doesn´t get that way this time around!
Aldric heads of to the morning lesson in his payamas. The overweight doesn´t seem to make him uncomfortable at all.
Stella and Klara enjoy a game of chess while Blossom and Almeric try to get to know eachother.
No one in this household is attracted to anyone due to the random generated turn on and turn offs. Time to change that a bit although the animation on the above pic look kinda odd... :D
Yup, Almeric and Blossom are now a bit more attracted to the other sims at the dorm... and to eachother...
...but Blossom still finds Klara hotter.
Meal together. All except for Almeric present.
Then they cow mascots decides to create a mess...
Blossom managed to talk a dormie into cleaning, but the result look rather painful for Blossom... XD
Almeric has gotten the To-much-chess-syndrome. :D
This poor dormie guy doesn´t really have the best of clothing choices. He´s also gotten black sideburns because I removed the facial hair he used to wear from my DL folder. Blossom, being a kind person, tries to tell him that he is good enough just as he is anyway. But ungratefulness is the world´s reward...
In a rather concrete way, Blossom lets the guy know she didn´t mean a single word of what she previously said.
Blossom and the dormie´s encounter was only the start. Klara decides it´s time to make William know his place.
The dormie and Blossom quickly decided they disliked eachother entirely. Before a more serious fight could break out, ACR took in to save some drama.
The liking between Blossom and Aldric is normally okay, but they apparently don´t share the same political views.
The liking between William and Klara is absolutely non-exsistent, and William decides to give Klara some of her crap back.
For about 2 sim hours, William and Klara take turns in slapping, poking and insulting eachother...
...until the unavoidable happens (started by William). Aldric likes the action! :P
In the end William gets his ass kicked and is humiliated in front of a decent amount of sims.
William and Klara = enemies officially.
William: This gotta be the worst day of my life... HOW could I lose!? Am I really that weak? And in front of all these sims!
Almeric tries to cheer William up with a pillow fight, which in Sims that actually is an exellent way to go! :D
Frances Worthington is invited over. William finds him hot, but unfortunately the chemistry between them is negative (probably because Frances is Cancer and William Aries).
In the end William seeks comfort in Aldric. Even if he witnessned the whole fiasco, it´s not like he is the most fit guy in the world either.
The gypsy arrives with the magical lamp. Don´t know who got it and how that sim manage to do so in only two days. I normally sell the lamps, since the most tempting wish (ask for money) feels to much like cheating.
Klara: Help, I REALLY need a toilet right now!
Me: Well, there are 4 different toilets in this dorm, so just chose your favorite. And maybe you should be a bit more discrete in the future and just go do your business instead of letting the whole dorm know?
Klara: Greek houses are pretty cool, I´ll have to admit. But have you heard of that readhed psycho in the Sorority? Her typical way of approaching a stranger is: 1 insult, 2 admire, 3 poke in the chest, 4 try to play, 5 slap, 6 talk of politics. Then she does it all over again and again. She can´t ever decide what she wants!
Blossom: Haha, she sounds weired indeed. I think I would rather go to the Fraternity then!

Shifting Paradymes, first semester
On to the Shifting Paradymes and their LTWs. Zoe Zimmerman wants to become a Media Magnate, Jasmine Rai a Captain Heroine and Gunnar Roque a Rock God.

Gunnar practices on the drums (I imagaine him as the drummer in the band for some reason). He is, acording to his bio, not supposed to be much of a musician. But it´s his LTW after all, and I believe all people and sims can improve if they really want to :)
I didn´t really think when I madeover the house and bought some new stuff, so they ended up with to little cash to buy new clothes. So they are stuck with their original ones for now. The exercise bike is both addictive and dangerous (I have had sims die due to it), so of course Zoe likes it.
Zoe: OMG, I´m the strongest of the strongest!
Remember how Zoe and DJ shared their first WooHoo at the party helt at Tri-Fruhm? I was so sure Zoe and DJ would end up together, but it looks like Jasmine and Zoe have other plans...

Gunnar approves of his new makeover. And he better - he´s not the most grateful sim to makeover with his complete lack of a chin.
Gunnar talks to a potential new low interest, while Jasmine and Zoe´s only love interests seem to be eachother.
Man, I already think I know Jasmine and Zoe will be unseperatable... Then again, I though I knew other things as well, but with ACR you can´t make any real plans.

Gunnar tells Zoe some nasty news about Crystal Vu - someone he has not even met!
Gunnar: It really isn´t strange to love WooHoo as much as I do. In fact, it gives you such unique lessons about Sim Anathomy, far better than any boring books available!
Gunnar: I have to ask you, as a woman: Is this Mickey Dosser really even nearly as hot as I am? I keep hearing about him being so hot, ya know.
Zoe: I´m not exactly into guys, so I wouldn´t know. This conversation makes me uncomfortable!
Gunnar´s current obsessions are Chloe Curious, WooHoo and make outs. So what suits better than inviting Chloe over?

I feel kinda silly for censuring Chloe´s (or any female´s) nipples like that, but I have heard Photobucket tends to be afraid of female nipples, so...

The happiness over his new fit figure, makes Gunnar forget that he doesn´t do cleaning...
It looks like DJ has lost...
...totally.
Gunnar realises that he might be able to give DJ some happiness...
Gunnar: Wow! Now I realise what Zoe has been talking about! She´s HOT!
He even wants to ask DJ on a date.
Gunnar´s attempt to convince DJ that men can be hot too seems pretty successful...
Rock out time on the roof.
Yeah, Gunnar really seems to have convinced DJ, who pays a new visit just a couple of hours later.
These two are just meant to be together! <3
Zoe finally takes the courage and ask Jasmine to marry her...

While thinking of their engagement, they make me realise the staircase to the roof really isn´t optimal (I HATE how sims can´t use them simultaneous!). I quickly replaced it with a modular stair.
DJ doesn´t seem jealous at all over the engagement, and just finishes an assignment.
Jasmine and Zoe celebrates their engagement...
...though they don´t get too much privacy, since DJ has to let them know she´s bored and has to leave.
Gunnar attempts to make some spaghetti, while the chess playing Jasmine gives him a questioning look.
Zoe´s new obsession = lunch sandwiches.
Both Zoe and Jasmine got on Dean´s List. Gunnar passed too.
Bin students, second semester
Blossom congratulates Klara, who got on Dean´s List.
And the Davis brothers are challanging to congratulate another top student, Stella.
Aldric and a dormie dance together.
Dormie failure (thanks to Pescado´s nouniprotect hack). At least he passed out in his own bedroom, to bad he didn´t make it to the bed though...
More dormie failures. One falls asleep in her food, with the stereo waking her up again. The other one fills the whole room with green stink smoke.
Aldric: Congratulations for having so many contacts. I actually envy that!
Aldric: Gosh you are actually hot, Blossom!
Blossom: You are a pure hottie, Aldric!
Yet more dormie failures, because they amuse me to no end;-)
Aldric invites DJ over. Since Gunnar made her straight (or bi, I´m not sure), they immediately decide they like each other.
DJ tells a dirty joke, which Aldric finds very amusing.
DJ: You might already know this, but you are simply incredible in all possible kind of ways!

And here is a random, short and simple tutorial: Somtimes dormies will become invinsible (like in the pic above). This is easily fixed by using the batbox and click "fix... invinsible sims". That´s kinda obvious though. BUT this method also works for the issue where children and teen with custom hairs arrive home from school with their hair looking somewhat transparent. Very annoying and it happens for almost all of my schoolaged sims. But luckily the solution is easy. The hair will also look normal again if you send the sim to a community lot and home again, but that´s more of a hassle.

Both Almeric and Aldric are popularity sims, so it´s seems like a good idea to let them know the OHV boys a bit better...
Sims invited to a dorm have this annoying habit of walking into a room of random dormies. When a playable sim follows them the room turns visible, and all other dormies realise they can use the objects in the room. With all dormies fighting randomly passing out, a fight over the bed occures immediately...
William and Guy could be a good pairing actually. At least ACR thinks so (and they have high chemistry without the turn ons being right!).
And now, thanks to the visitors walking in to dormie rooms, we have a dorm full of dormies dressed in their underwears...
Aldric: Come on, lets play some red hands!
Matthew: Uhm, no. I don´t play with non friends...
Aldric: What!? I thought you Fraternity guys liked to have fun! Come on, it´s just a silly game! Don´t be so boring!
Matthew: I said no, and I also already explained why.
Aldric: Okay, lets talk about this hot cow mascot then, should we?
Matthew: Yeah, I can do that!
*new fight over the bed*

Financial advicing and money making is the best consolation for William.

Pajamas dormie: So this alien girl living here is incredible hot. Does anyone know how to become an alien? I also want to be one!
Blossom writes a novel about a rat who wants to be an astronaut and later a sea captain. After finding a magical lamp, the little rat makes the wish. The Genie misunderstands it all, and turns the rat into a blossom. Wait... a blossom as in Blossom!? Maybe Blossom simply writes an autobiography? Yeah, of course she does! She most likely believes in reincarnation after all!
Stella is sometimes more kind than what makes sense, cheering at the Llama mascot who obviously can´t neither dance nor sing!
Almeric lets William know of yet another passing out dormie.
The couch came and forced Aldric to do what he hates the most - work out.
To improve the enviroment score and maybe gain a skill point or two, Stella was sent to clean the dorm. A task she was more than happy with!
Blossom: Oh shit, I walked into the sink... it hurts! Or wait, it´s him again!
Dormie: HELP! I can´t reach my assignment. It´s an alien in my way!
Me: Why the hell did you put in down somewhere you can´t reach!? I think you are to stupid for college.
Almeric and the Llama mascot have invented a new way to say goodbye (at least I have not noticed it before!).
Stella is sick of the food the dorm cook makes, so she decides to make some hamburgers for everyone to enjoy.
Klara and William are so trilled they can even tolerate each other´s precences.
Stella and Klara make best friends, and the stinky dormie has finally taken a shower!
Almeric: Hi, have you heard of...
Aldric: I´m not interested. Gossips are silly.
Aldric: But lets play instead!

The rest (Blossom, Klara, Stella & William) moved into an own house. It´s just based on a pre made lot at La Fiesta Tech, that I made big enough to fit 4 sims + preferable some visitors.
First floor. It has one bedroom, which is Klara´s (I kinda think it´s a good idea to have her and William as far from eachother as possible).
Second floor. William´s room is the one most at the right. Stella´s is next to his. Blossom got spoiled with a huge bedroom, but she wont have it (especially the double bed!) all to herself.

Shifting Paradymes, second semester
After finishing the first semester, the Shifting Paradyme sims could finally afford some new clothes.
Gunnar´s tattoos are magically gone now. But I think I have found an overlay box with tattoos that really stick. That will be tested next time I play their household.
Gunnar has a lot to learn if he want to pass this semester...
Jasmine also got herself new, tattoo less clothes. I have seen her as some kind of tomboy for a long time, so that´s the way she will dress too.
She immediately rolled the want to write her term paper.
Zoe joins Gunnar in a game of chess.
To celebrate the successful semester, Jasmine & Zoe share some quality time :)
Jasmine: I´m STARVING here!
Me: Well the fridge in the next room, it´s not like I´m keeping you away from it!

As you can see, Gunnar is rather obsessed with DJ at the moment. And like a typical romance sim, he romance till his hunger bar is in the orange! XD

The newly engaged couple spends some time together, each doing there own stuff.
Jasmine believes she´s pretty good at the guitar and I can´t argue with that. She´s far better than me anyway! :D

So I do love te hack that enables more Maxis clothes as outerwear, but my sims always tend to chose what suits their characters the least...

So, both Gunnar (!) and Jasmine got on Dean´s List. Gunnar actually started rolling skilling wants all the time after a while, as well as wants to write his term paper and doing assignments.

This took pretty long, so I´m glad to finally post in and be able to focus on the next update!
Last time I played La Fiesta Tech, it was attached to a custom ´hood. In that version I ended up with the following pairings: Almeric Davis & Frances Worthington, Blossom Moonbeam & William Williamson, Guy Wrightley & DJ Vers, Matthew Hart & Sarah Love, Jessie Pilferson & Gunnar Roque, and Jasmine Rai & Zoe Zimmerman. Aldric, Monica, Stella and Klara ended up with custom sims. I somehow want to make things different this time, and I really thought I would... until Jasmine and Zoe clearly told me they wanted eachother after all... Not that I complain though, they are super cute together and they make really interesting looking kids (Yeah, I have the pregnancy for all genders hack. It´s invaluable for me).
To avoid the issue where all of my sims always get on Dean´s List, I have made some sort of compromise. They MUST roll a want to write their term papers and to do assignments. To get the skills needed, they must roll a want to skill or gain the skill point by doing something skill giving autonomously. If they roll a want to gain a skill point, without being specific about what kind of skill point they want to gain, I´ll send them to study the one(s) needed.
I´m lost when it comes to how to use first and second floor when it comes to English. So I follow the same rule as the one we have in Sweden. I have a feeling it´s not the same in English, but I hope you get what I mean anyway. That´s what matters!
Next update will be of the Specter and Beaker families. It will most likely come much more quickly than this one, since I have already played most of them now.
