Strangetown Round 2: Grunt + LFT, Nigmos
Warnings: Picture-heavy, mild cursing, likely some typos, Tank & Johnny in the same dorm...
Nigmos, first semester:
It's time for Johnny Smith, Ophelia Nigmos and Tank Grunt to start college!
Ophelia Nigmos, being an orphan, arrives all alone. Poor girl :-(
Atleast she more than anything seems happy to start college! :)
Second to arrive is Johnny.
Me: Man, you look very green, Johnny. If you just dyed your hair...
Johnny: Oh, shut up!
Third and last is Tank...
...who looks very much like Buzz.
Johnny is already thinking of trying to join the Fraternity. I can actually see that happening one day.
Despite being the worst of enemies, Johnny and Tank actually have a lot more in common than they would like to admit.
Ophelia´s new look is quite bohemian, and she likes that! :)
Frances and the cheerleader continue the discussion of the snow they had in the previous round :D
This dormie girl had a hard time the previous round - everyone she attempted to admire rebuffed her. Johnny seems to understand her a bit better though...
...and so does the cheerleader! :)
When Johnny realises Tank is in the same room, he doesn't try to hide his feelings at all...
He doesn't exactly hide his feelings for Ophelia either, but that's a good thing.
Johnny madeover! He got a new haircut and also grew himself some beard (even if I don't know whether aliens are supposed to have beards).
Tank madeover! He dropped his old buzzcut, but still keeps a short style. He also got rid of the military face paint.
Both Johnny and Ophelia gets themself some new turn ons and turn offs...
...but Johnny is clearly disturbed by having Tank so close while thinking of new turn ons! :D
Tank has not yet rolled a want for a major, but I figured he finds it most important to chose what his father wants him to. Thus he choses History.
Being a serious guy, Tank is immediately tempted to give the chessboard a try. Odd thing the Grunts don't have a chessboard, but maybe they think it's too social?
Ophelia rolls the want to buy a Floral Workstation. Normally such a want is not enough for me to actually fulfill it, but ever since reading Strangetown, HWC it seems like a really fitting hobby for Ophelia.
Later that day, Tank takes the courage and invites Blossom Moonbeam over. He met her via the Campus Catalog (and she was the one who Tank was talking to when Johnny glared at him over at the community lot).
Johnny has a chat about sports with a dormie guy. It seems he's quickly becomming popular among the college students.
Blossom: So this is how you look!? Wow, now that's what I'd call a real man!
Tank: Really? Thanks!
Then ACR decides it's time for the first kiss (I finally installed ACR2, which have a lot more interactions!)
Tank and Blossom quickly find liking for eachother (and I'm very happy for Tank :D ).
Johnny congrats Ophelia for being hot about a dozen times in a row! :D
It appears a whole lot of the dormies living in their dorm are members of the secret society. I should try and remember their names incase I feel like giving some of my sims a membership...
Johnny: Why does that Tank asshole always have to be where I am?
Tank runs away to his class...
...and a murderous looking Johnny runs after.
Johnny: I have to take revenge or I'll never be entirely happy again!
(Luckily, Tank managed to get to his class before Johnny could catch him)
With Tank away, Johnny eventually manages to cool down. For a while...
...Oops, what are you doing, Johnny!?
Johnny: I'm telling this girl just how lovely she is. What does it looks like?
Dormie girl: Finally I feel appreciated!
Ophelia happily notes her very first term paper is all done. Her goal of one day getting married drives her forward.
Johnny: I'll take a nap until Tank has gotten to bed. Wake me up then, please.
Tank has no plans getting to bed anytime soon though, and Ophelia is just happy getting to know him a bit better.
Ophelia: I think the most important toddler skill is being able to talk. If one doesn't learn that early in life, there is a big risk of becomming isolated.
Tank: I guess that's important, but to me walking comes first. I think that's a key to become independed.
What currently pushes Tank forward is the thought of Blossom :)
Tank spends some of his aspiration benefit points on his primary aspiration, popularity. He also gets knowledge as secondary.
Next day Ophelia has made up her mind and choses Literature.
Johnny wants to study Political Science instead (the major Ophelia feared).
Johnny's game of chess gets interrupted when he realises Tank has entered the room...
...but Tank only wants to watches a game of football (or well, I wanted him to do that :D) and the TV happens to be in the same room as the chessboard.
Are you looking at him, Tank?
Tank: Why in the world would I do something like that? I would go blind!
Johnny spends a lot of his freetime building new social contacts, with all kind of sims.
Those cheerleaders are everywhere, even stopping sims from getting to their classes.
Tank and a dormie have a rather serious discussion...
...until another dormie sits down and starts talking about the hotness of Chloe Curious... :D
More hotness congrats. Still no autonomous romantic interactions though (are you sleeping, ACR?)
Finally! Funny thing is this was not an ACR thing at all. Must mean they really want eachother! :)
After that ACR decides to start working however.
Ophelia: Even if you lost that fight against Tank, you were always the true winner in my heart!
Johnny: Well thanks... but I would rather forget about it.... Damn Tank!
Blossom has an entirely different opinion of Tank of course :)

Johnny has made up his mind: He wants Ophelia to be his wife!
Ophelia prefers not to judge others, and wants to make friends with Tank (and cousin Nervous).
OMG! Johnny choses to sit at the same table as Tank!? When there are other tables available!
During their short talk, both boys even manage to completely mask their enmity.
Johnny: I only sat down with Tank because Ophelia wants me to treat him well. And I would do everything for her!
Not later after that said, Johnny goes down on his knees...
...and Ophelia happily accepts his offer!
Maybe you should just go to bed instead of starting yet another assignment!?
Well... I told you you should had gone to bed...
Tank: My parents got divorced, and I have not met my mother ever since. So, while I still believe in marrige, I don't think it's something one should rush into. I would only marry someone if I'm 100 % sure it will work out. How does that sounds to you?
Blossom: Well, it makes sense. But I don't know if marrige has to be such a big deal. I really want to get married one day, and I just feel that when I do that it will be awesome. My goal right now is to marry you one day...
Tank: *blushes* Well, that actually sound like an exellent idea...
Blossom: Well... so cheers to that!
Blossom heads off to the arcade games, and Tank follows her pretending to be super interested! :D
Johnny: I have to gain at least one more body point, so I can kick Tank's ass!
The cafeteria lady doesn't have a good day at work...
The cheerful, playful Blossom attempts to tell a dirty joke for the super serious Tank...
And Tank even appreciates that! She really is a good influence for him!

Everyone got on Dean's List, because they all were unusually ambitious during their first semesters.
Grunt
Now when Erin has moved in, the Grunt house is slowely becomming more aesthetic and decorated.
Ripp arrives home back from school, and despite doing his homework his grades are still quite bad.
Buck on the other hand, has finally got the A+ he so much wanted.
Buck also brings home another downtownie child.
Later that day, both Buzz and Erin want to get engaged.
Townie child: I wanna become a pilot, but I need an airplane so I can practice! Wanna fly with me when I get one?
Buck: Dunno... I have a little fear of flying... But it sounds quite exciting!
Townie child: Haha! Chicken, chicken!
Buck: Maybe you should leave now, I have to... do my homework.
Townie Child: Let's play something first. I'm pretty bored.
Buck: Okay then...
No, Erin has not started to work in the military track, but she arrives home at the same time as Buzz. She has a promotion with her.
Erin explains for Buzz how she managed to win the fight against Chloe. She's really proud of it, but Buzz doesn't seem too interested.
Tank is invited over, because the Grunts decides to hold an inofficial birthday party for Buck.
Tank spends some time with a stray cat who has been visiting the Grunts quite a lot recently.
The family eats a simple but delicious meal together.
Tank and Ripp's relationships to eachother is slowly improving.
Buck: Dad, I really like how much nicer the house looks now with Erin here. I'd like to learn and take part in the decoration. Would that be okay?
Buzz: Hmm... Well, I guess you could ask Erin. If she approves, I guess it would be okay...
It's time for little Buck to blow out the candles...

Buck choses family as his aspiration, and if I remember correctly his LTW is having 6 grandchildren. He likes blonde hair (because most girls his age are blonde, and his mother was blonde) and good chefs (who doesn't?).
It's Buck's inofficial party, but Buzz and Erin are most interested in eachother.
It's always quite entertaining when two deadly serious sims autonomously decide to play red hands! ;)
Later when the guest has left, Buzz Grunt goes down on his knees and asks Erin to be his wife...
...and she accepts (in front of a sleeping Buck and not too interested Ripp)!
When Buck has gaint some new energy, he pays Downtown a visit and gets himself a little makeover :)
He walks alow up the stairs...
...because I just told him to use the pinball machine! XD
Buck has become older, but he's still a cutie! <3
A downtownie attempts to flirt with Crystal Vu, but she's promptly rejected.
WTF!? As a result of the rejected flirt, Crystal Vu and the downtownie fall out of love, but when did they fall in love in the first place!?
The poor rejected woman has no luck even with the slob :(
As a birthday present for Buck, the Grunts adopts one of Sarah's puppies, Pluto!
The cop of course has to wake up the sleeping Erin instead of greeting one of the awake sims...
...so Erin walks out to welcome the little puppy...
...but is soon interrupted by a strong feeling of nausea...
...she doesn't look fit at all.
So little Pluto is left alone.
Not for long though. General Buzz finds himself really happy with the idea of having a pet.
A little Crittur indeed ;)
Buck loves his new little dog very much <3
Ripp finally comes to the conclusion he'll need help if he should be able to improve his grades. Erin is happy to help.
Poor birthday child, traumatized for life. XD
The same evening, Erin finds out why she has been feeling so strange (yes, she's pregnant with Buzz's child).
Ripp is also very excited about the new puppy. He has to admit his home has got more nice ever since Erin moved in. He actually no longer has much to complain about.

Buzz really is all over Pluto - most of it was autonomous as well! :)
Erin and Pluto watch TV together :D

But Buck manages to grab the newspaper before she reaches it...
...or so I though. Despite having it in his hands, Cirke managed to somehow grab it anyway! XD
Buck really thinks the family is the most important thing. But he also wants to maintain his excellent grades.
Buzz: Oh son, you've got black hair all over your shirt... Let me fix that... Wait.. Black Hair? But you have brown hair... How odd...
Tank: *is embarrassed*
Erin is about to become a Grunt, so it's time for a little party!
The guests arrive...
Kristen Loste, Erin's brother Loki and Almeric Davis.
Immediately after the guests have arrived, the wedding starts.
It all goes well, and Erin is now a Grunt!
Loki has obviously never danced before. But that doesn't stop him from trying. After all he couldn't care less what others think of him.
Erin: So now when your dad and I are married, maybe we all should celebrate it by visiting the opera?
Tank: Don't think so, I'm not into culture...
Erin: But you can become! Come on, lets do it! Everyone need culture!
Tank: No! My ears hurt just by thinking of it!
Buck: I really liked Erin's wedding dress. Important part of a wedding, right? What kind of dress did your wife have when you two got married?
Loki: None of you business, and why would I even remember such a thing?
Ah, the classic. When there's a lack of common interests to talk of, let's talk weather!
The conversations between Buck and Loki keep failing. I'm not too surprised there...
Erin influences Almeric to talk with Kristen. Problem is; Kristen is not at all interested in any conversation with him.
After the weather talk, Tank and Ripp actually start talking about much more personal things. Seems their relationship is getting more and more relaxed...

Ripp is happy to meet some new faces, and has to say fraternity guys are quite cool.
Loki happily continues showing everyone his (lack off) dancing skills...
...which even amuse little Pluto! xD
Kristen eventually gets nervous from all sims, so she escapes to the empty living room.
Erin is extremly embarrassed by her brother, while Buzz finds it quite amusing!
The wedding party ends up as a roof raiser, and Buzz tries to salvage some leftovers from the buffet table.
Erin enters her last phase of pregnancy, and is very excited to soon have her very first baby :)

Back to the college students, with an all too familiar sight...
Tank doesn't get Johnny at all, but he has decided Ophelia is nice enough to hang out with at times.
Ophelia wanted and got a Floral Workstation, so when Tank wanted a Robot Crafting Station, it only seemed fair to get him one.
After finishing the term paper, he tests out his new toy ;)
It really must be to make Ophelia happy, because now Johnny always choses to eat together with Tank...

Cow Mascot: You said I wasn't hot!? Take that back! Immediately!
Dormie: Hey, get out of here! It's the men's room!
Cow Mascot: Get out of my way, you silly little thing. I need to use that toilette!
Cow Mascot: You are really cute, wanna go on a date?
Dormie: I'd rather die!
(At least you are getting lots of affection now-adays!)
The cow mascot takes her frustration out on Johnny...
...at least that gave him an excuse to give up on that chess game, and instead hang out with someone new.
Finally the Cow Mascots decides to be unsocial (which is as close to social competens they'll ever get!).
Oh Johnny, Tank is actually a nice guy.
Johnny: I pretend I didn't hear that!
For some reason the cow mascots in my game have started to stay until they are all dirty. And often they even stay to take showers, leaving a horrible mess behind...
Ah Tank, don't be so sad. That robot looks quite good to me! :D
Finally, Johnny and Tank are no longer enemies!
And they can finally accept to sit down and talk for a short while! What a progress! :D
Tank just built the first robot he's really proud of.

Ophelia: I have heard rumors that if you are taught how to study when you are younger, you'll have an easier time in College. My aunt taught me, and I'm very grateful for that. How about you guys? Did someone help you with your homework?
Johnny: Yes, of course. Dad helped me, and he gave me some really useful tricks.
Tank: Well no... No one helped me, but I think I'm doing quite well here any way... Not to brag or anything...
Johnny: *tries hard not to say anything sarcastic*
Dormie: Ugh! There is a sleeping stink bomb in my way!
Eh... I think the birds are sleeping at the moment, Johnny!
Johnny: Please just shut up. Ever heard of a night owl?
Me: Yeah, but they don't really look like that...
Well, now you're also a sleeping stink bomb... okay, maybe you don't stink this time...
Johnny: I'm sooo looking forward to move out of this dorm. The stenches, the noices, the burnt food...
Dormie: Can I move with you?
Johnny: Eh, no... Frankly, you are currently a cause of the stenches as well.
Dormie: I know, but that's just because I recently had an accident!
Johnny: Well, that was very interesting to hear...
We'll end here, cause I forgot to take pics of their relationships :P All three of them were very ambitious even during their second semester, and thus they all got on Dean's List.
Notes:
Remember the fight between Johnny and Tank? And remember the outcome? Well, Johnny feared losing a fight against Tank, so the lost fight caused him to lose several aspiration points. This caused him to grow up badly. Wonder if that's the reason why Johnny seemed so much more pissed off than Tank?
Tank, Ophelia and Johnny's household is called Nigmos, since I figured that would be the most "neutral" one.
I was hoping to give Ripp a chance to win Ophelia's heart, but in my game it mostly turns out more or less impossible to seperate her from Johnny. This time was no exception. I don't mind really, I think they make a great couple!
I like the idea of General Buzz and Erin together! They are in many aspects very different, but I think they balance eachother out quite well. One day Erin might even talk Buzz into changing his haircut...
It felt bad when I had to leave the puppies up for adoption, but it's already feeling better now when one of them has a new home! I plan to give the remaining two new homes as well later during this rotation.
