I could tell from the way she softly clicked her teeth together twice while keeping her mouth closed, flicked her eyes to the top left and grunted once subvocally that she'd just adjusted me to be more handsome. She would probably pass it off as checking her messages if I confronted her

The sad truth is that this is really what the world is coming to.

Personally, I don't do anything on my phone while I'm out unless it's absolutely neccesary. It's my biggest pet-peeve when I'm trying to have a dinner or spend a day with someone and they're ticking through their messages and emails every 5 minutes...

I always suspected that tweeting is a gateway activity.
