November 12, 2009 Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, in his annual address to the Federal Assembly, has declared the necessity of creating in Russia a powerful center of promising research and development, and December 19, 2010 a place has been defined where they will build Skolkovo City, the ultra-modern scientific and technological complex for the development and commercialization of new technologies.
The Hypercube project is the first development phase of a large-scale interactive 3D application Skolkovo City. VIZERRA team modeled two innovative buildings of the future Skolkovo - Hypercube and Sunflower - in every detail. One of the project goals was to create a visual guide that gives an idea of what the future city will look like.
We have already talked before about the Hypercube building. Sunflower is unique because it is completely autonomous: the building itself provides its heating, ventilation, etc., using natural resources only. For example, in summer house collects and accumulates the heat obtained from solar energy, and the heating system of the building uses it in winter.
The project customer is the Skolkovo Foundation. During our work we had to interact with an extremely complex structure of the customer organization and a large number of its contractors and representatives.
We made a series of spectacular videos based on the 3D model.
The customer was pleased with the VIZERRA quality and speed, appraised the shown attention to detail and decided to render in 3D the entire town-planning project of Skolkovo Innograd. That makes the successful completion of the first project phase only the beginning of a large and very interesting way.
