What I'm Up To

Oct 15, 2005 16:30

Last weekend we went to Oregon, and I walked the Portland marathon, which took me just over nine hours. I was really excited about actually finishing and getting a medal and a t-shirt. Next year I hope to do it in under eight hours.

I spent most of this week in bed with ice on my twisted ankle (right) and pulled hamstring (left), but I seem to have recovered almost all the way now. Yesterday I had enough energy to work all day (and buy two new tires after an unfortunate flat tire incident), and today I took a walk down to the library where I got a library card at long last and checked out six books --five for research and one for fun.

I also finished collecting money to send to the people I promised to help. Thanks to everyone who came through on this. You will be getting a personal thank you note from me in the mail (except I don't know everyone's address, so if you sent money via paypal and didn't give me an address, send your address to me (mrowsera at hotmail), please). We were able to send each of them 600 dollars!

In a few minutes Moss will come home from work and we will go to the Santa Rosa library where I intend to get four or five more research books, and then we will go to eat sushi with some friends. Yum!

And that is pretty much what's up in my life. Boring to read about, I'm sure, but I figured an update would be a good thing to throw out there anyway.
