In this week's
Spotlight, Warren Rochelle talks about using autobiographical experience in fiction, the overlap of civil rights for fairies and LGBTQ people, and what happened when he consulted an animal communicator to sort out his cats' behavioral problems. I love the random stuff I learn when interviewing people.
In other news, I am still extremely busy, and also pretty exhausted. Boskone was a lot of fun last weekend (despite the giant migraine that left me stumbling and shivering through most of Saturday). Saw a bunch of old friends and met some new ones, and actually managed to sell a copy of
I Do Two! to a stranger, which is a first, and feels like a milestone of sorts. I still haven't read my flist in ages, though. I think it may be 3 weeks now. I feel really out of touch, but I also have SO MUCH left to get done. I still urge you to please please tell me directly if you have news I should know about, and I'm going to try to at least skim the last hundred or so posts sometime today.
Also! The Nebula nominations are out, and
it is a really amazing list. I am enormously pleased at the range of diversity in both writers and content. My heartiest congratulations to all the nominees! I'm also somewhat flummoxed to realize there are several of my friends up there. Somehow I have turned into the kind of person who knows Nebula nominees. How cool is that!?
