I'm a free bitch, baby

My life changed tonight. I've literally never had such an incredible experience. It sucked that I couldn't sit next to anyone I knew, but being by myself, surrounded by strangers, I was able to let everything go and be entirely free. It was like I was at the largest, most intense, most beautiful electro dance party I've ever been at. It felt so beautiful to be surrounded by other little monsters, other freaks, and not care about anything but the music and the performance and the dancing.

Tonight I left my dance moves and my voice and my soul at Lady Gaga's opening night at Radio City. And I haven't been this happy and this content in forever.

Nothing matters except love and acceptance and expression and freedom. If I am lonely, then Gaga is lonely.

And I know how lame and random this sounds, but I've spent my life going to the theatre, to the opera, to the symphony, to concerts - I live for art - but nothing will ever equal what I experienced tonight. You can hate her music, that's fine, but Gaga is so talented it's remarkable. The only thing I might be able to compare it to was Patti Lupone in Gypsy on the level of devotion to the performance, but tonight was two straight hours of literal flawless singing (yes, I was sober the entire time and paid attention to the vocals). At one point, from my third mezzanine corner seat, I looked out into the audience and saw approximately 6,000 people dancing and celebrating as intensely as I was. I've never experience such energy and enthusiasm. It was life changing.

"All the freaks are outside. And we locked the doors."

As I waited slowly to walk down the stairs to leave after the show ended everyone started singing Bad Romance. When I got to the main stair case at the first mezzanine I screamed at the top of my loungs "GAGA FOREVER" and hundreds of people turned around and cheered with me. I ran into people outside and we all had something in common: yelling "show me your teeth" elicited to the kind of reaction and unity that I've never seen before.

My name is Sean O'Connor and I am a little monster. I hope you'll join the club.

(Because Gaga...."I'm like Tinker Bell and if you don't cheer for me I will die. DO YOU WANT ME TO DIE!?!")
