Sometimes my job makes me want to cry for joy

I just helped a young lady find books to help her try to explain to her father about homosexuality. She wasn't getting results with her search, so she came to me.

She's already come out to her dad, and he just doesn't understand. I found her a few books to help with him, a few books for her own reading, and sent her off with, "it gets better."

My pleasure! This is the joy of my job. I get to help people. Sure... folks complain about stupid things, but they don't know what we do for people who actually need assistance. And... that I was the Librarian she decided to approach makes me feel good, too. She trusted me with some very difficult-to-share information.
