Tell us something interesting about you: I am a dietetics major at Central Michigan University. In February I couldn't run a mile without stopping; now I can almost run a whole 5k without stopping. I can ice skate, but I can't rollerblade.

ABOUT YOUR WEIGHT LOSS:
How long have you been on a weight-loss plan?: Officially I have been on a plan since February 2008.
Are you on any sort of diet plan, such as Weight Watchers?: Not currently but I plan on starting WW soon with Heather bella_rugger
What are some of your favorite healthy foods?: I love broccoli, zucchini, apples, whole wheat bread, hummus, rice... I like food, a lot... haha.
What are your favorite junk foods?: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Doritos, Dove Chocolate, Snickers, ICE CREAM!
What are your favorite forms of exercise?: Running, biking, swimming, yoga
What are your LEAST favorite forms of exercise?: Running on the treadmill, lifting weights
What is your MAIN reason for wanting to lose weight?: To be healthier, to be more fit and able to run faster, be stronger, to look hot. :)

GIVE US YOUR OPINION ON ONE OF THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:
Eating Disorders, Fad Diets (like Atkins, etc.), BMI (is it accurate?)
I feel that BMI is a good starting point, but not something that you should take too much to heart. It doesn't take into consideration your body fat/lean mass ratio, and there are some people who are "overweight" that are completely healthy; there are people who are "underweight" that do not need to gain weight. Everybody is different - I believe BMI generalizes too much.

Your Passions: I love nutrition, it basically runs my entire life right now since I am going to school for it. I also love to run, which was not the case 6 months ago. I am passionate about being healthy and taking care of my body. I am passionate about being a girlfriend, a friend, a daughter, a little sister, and an aunt. I hope that I am an inspiration to others.
Your Dreams: I hope to be a practicing dietitian when I finish college. I would love to open a private practice someday with a team of professionals to help people with eating disorders. I want to marry my boyfriend Ken someday.
Your Goals: My goals are to be healthier and to get down to my dream weight of 130lbs. I want to be able to run a 5k without stopping, then be able to run a 10k without stopping, then I would like to attempt a half marathon. I also want to do a sprint triathlon and eventually an Olympic triathlon. I want to wear a size 6/7 jeans and feel hot in a bikini.
Your Reasons for Being Here: I started this community because I didn't think there were many like it. All I ever found when I searched "weight loss" on livejournal were pro-ED communities and communities for people with a lot of weight to lose. Ones for "people like me" didn't seem very active. I wanted something unique and fun.
