I made the mistake of drinking a large cup of strong coffee before I came home today, so be prepared.
I went to see the sickest documentary with brianna tonight. it was "until the light takes us", and followed the early development of black metal in norway, mainly centered around interviews with former members of mayhem, fenriz from darkthrone and varg from burzum. they get into dead's suicide, the church burnings, how the media handled that, how that attention basically handed the whole scene to a bunch of satanist douche bags, euronymous's murder, etc. they let their interviewees take the lead, with absolutely no commentary from the filmakers or any so-called experts. they skimmed over the development of varg's nazism, as they didn't want that to be a focus of the film, and didn't really want to record to a windy racist speech. and then, the directors were there after the film! they did a q&a session. oh, and the guy working at the movie theater had some sweet ass skinny dreads. nice time.
then we wandered around soho for about an hour looking for a coffee place to sit down in. sort of frustrating, but a nice walk. eventually we settled on a place where the seating was closed and sat outside for a bit, and yeah, intook some caffeine, as I mentioned.
christ in a creamsicle the mta was annoying on the way home. in the long-ass ride home I thought of a million other things to put down here, but I can't remember any of them now. oh well.
