Anime Detour

So, yes, I went to Anime Detour.

Quite a bit easier to reach this year, as the mass transit is no longer on strike, and the light rail goes all the way to the Megamall. The Thunderbird Hotel is only a couple of blocks away from that, but it seemed longer on Friday, because I got out at the wrong end of the mall, and there was a snowstorm in progress. After a late breakfast at IHOP, though, I managed to find my way.

The con was in much more of the hotel this year, pretty much the entire second floor. To make this reasonably brief, I had a good time, met some people, spent too much money in the hucksters rooms, and watched a lot of anime.

Princess Tutu is really good, and had my favorite line from an anime this weekend: "May happiness come to those who accept their fate, and to those who defy their fate, glory."

Cyberteam in Akihabara...very, very goofy. Must MST this.

Aquarian Age: Came in too late, ending left me with a "that's it? That's what all of this has been building to?" feeling.

Best line from a live person this weekend, at the cosplay contest, "Edward Elrics number five through seven? You fail."

Did quite well at the art show, due to extremely thin bidding. Got an empty orbo pendant, homemade Vash and Ed Elric plushies, and a lovely picture of Bakura as "Change of Heart."
