"Armor" was actually on the recommendations list, eyes must have skimmed over. "Starship Troopers" is where most of the older SF recommendations came from, while "Old Man's War" is the one that called up the newer recommendations. Read the first three in the latter series, not sure where my copy of the Zoe book is.)
And I'm planning to read at least one X-Wing book soon in honor of the late Aaron Allston. (I'd read his earlier works, and roomed with him at Minicon once, but gone off Star Wars by the time he started writing those.)
Oh yea, also two anthology series come to mind- The Man-Kzin war series, set in Larry Niven's Known Space universe, a bunch of stories of various clashes between the two species over a series of wars (though the first war gets the most focus).
The Bolo series, novels about some massive, massively powerful AI tanks and their battles.
Have read several of the Niven books the Man-Kzin War series ties into, as well as a few of the Bolo stories. The latter I should really look into again.
