It turns out there's a "Free RPG Day" to match "Free Comic Book Day", but the nearest store doing it is in Coon Rapids.
In happy news, the Basilica of St. Mary's, just a couple of blocks from my apartment, is one hundred years old. Today, they held a free brunch for the neighborhood. I saw the bishop (full regalia), but didn't get a chance to talk to him.
All of my tax rebate has gone into paying my student loan; hope that will keep things steady for a while.
